Maryland Gay Marriage Court of Appeals Proceedings Live Webcast Link
Here's the link to the webcast of the Maryland Court of Appeals proceedings that will start at 10.00 am today.

http://www.courts.state.md.us/coappeals/webcast.html

Let's keep some fingers and toes crossed and maybe, if we all think good thoughts, Maryland could become the second state to recognise that marriage is a human right, not a straight-only right.

3. . . . holy crap! Maryland still has vestiges of the old
Roman Catholic Church (in England) decorum. That is, the Appeals Court judges are dressed in red as were the Cardinals (and other Roman Catholic officials) who presided over the English courts many many years ago. Then, again, Maryland was founded as a Roman Catholic reprieve from religious bashings both in England and in colonies. Interesting . . . indeed. But, then again, perhaps only to us lawyers. LOL . . .

5. Roman Catholic influence is heavy in Maryland
We have a Cardinal. Not many cities our size would. We have the oldest Catholic cathederal in the US (just finished a major restoration). We have (seemingly) Catholic churches on every corner. If you're Catholic and in your 40s or older, you no doubt recall using the 'Baltimore Catechism' as you prepared for your first communion. And on and on ......

the oral argument is already archived . . . go to

1.) http://www.courts.state.md.us/coappeals/webcast.html and follow instructions to get to the online archived oral argument; or try

2.) http://play.rbn.com/?url=mdjury/mdjury/demand/coa120406_case44.rm&proto=rtsp
