Lieberman hires former Christian Coalition spokesman as new communications director
Edited on Tue Nov-21-06 03:01 PM by anotherdrew
Two weeks after winning reelection as an independent due to losing Connecticut's Democratic primary, Joe Lieberman has hired a former spokesman for the Christian Coalition as his new communications director, RAW STORY has learned. The new hiree also formerly served as a senior fellow at the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC), a legislative director for the conservative Heritage Foundation, and as communications director to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).

Fifty-two year old political pundit and activist Marshall Wittmann is very popular with Washington journalists because he often "gives good quote," according to a Washington Post profile from earlier this year.

so, I take back everything I said about "living with lieberman" let's roast this sunofdabitch alive. There has got to be one republican senator who can be induced to switch parties... there's got to be... anyway, I sure as hell do not want this traitor sitting as chairman of anything.

It's perfectly clear where his bread is buttered.

Just checking.

31. But liking it is not necessary.
And holding one's tongue about not liking it is also not necessary.

So I'll kiss his ass if I must for as long as the circumstances require. But I'm sure the fuck NOT GOING TO BE QUIET ABOUT IT.

4. I wonder how long it's going to take for Lieberman to do something
Edited on Tue Nov-21-06 03:03 PM by AndyA
that will make 99% of the Democrats who voted for him sorry they did.

I'm thinking it won't be long...

Of course, the Dems only keep the majority as long as Lieberman remains in office, and as long as he doesn't change parties.

8. 2008!! 2008!! 2008!!
There are plenty of people who are going to disagree, but I'm keeping my eye on him to jump into the 2008 race as a late comer. If he announces too soon, he's a non-starter by month two. It's going to be interesting watching him trying to bolster his "creds" then run as an Indy.

It sucks, but we have to put up with this asshat until 2008, at least.

13. Wouldn't it be 2012?
Just wondering how we can get rid of him in '08. I like the idea a lot, but I'm just wondering how it could happen- short of him caucusing with the repugs?

17. If we take more Senate seats in 08, Lieberman becomes irrelevant.
Right now, we have to put up with his bullshit, because if he goes over to the Republicans, we lose our majority.

If we knock off a few vulnerable Republicans in 08 like Coleman, Sununu and maybe Dole or Chambliss, we don't need Lieberman anymore.

26. Oh, I gotcha
It would be nice to win at least a five or six seat Senate majority in 2008. Hopefully, we can pick up enough seats to do that, despite tossing Lieberman aside. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he begins caucusing with he rethugs well before '08, anyway.

23. I Agree
Time to start working on Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Chuck Hagel and Arlen Spectre. Hell, I'd take "magic bullet Spectre" before I'd kiss Joe's ass.

Joe needs to be given one chance to denounce the rumors of him switching parties and commit to the Democratic Party, or be thrown out of the Democratic caucus.

We dick around with Joe and his ego, and the next thing you know...HE'S THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT THE FUCKING 2008 REPUKE CONVENTION.

Time to fish or cut bait Joe.

36. Bullshit . When did their agenda change? Bullmoose was in his forties.
Edited on Tue Nov-21-06 06:41 PM by Dr Fate
I suppose his coziness with Fawell, McCain, the Heritage Foundation and other rightwingers was a youthful indiscretion (he was in his 40s)?

I call BS- the far right never changed their agenda and neither did Bullmoose- he just moved on to more subtle, palatable outlets for that agenda.

It could NOT be a larger, more hateful insult to the Democratic Party, from whom he has derived all his support over the years before he became a complete, loathesome traitor.

and Christian Coalition all have the same priority.

What strange bed fellows we have when any means are used to satisfy an end.
