Why are people here saying Kerry should of never said sorry
Look now it will be out of the news cycle. We need to keep our issues in the news not theirs. We have a very few days to keep getting our message out. So he did the right thing for us to win. JUST A RANT

2. It is used as a sign of weakness
The fact is the ISSUES were at the front... and his apology gives them fuel for th "WEAK DEMOCRATS" Boehner will not apologize and he will be held high as a "STRONG REPUBLICAN"

6. We need to reframe it
Kerry made a sincere statement that takes reponsibility for what he did - mangled a sentence. He also expressed regret to the military people who may have been hurt.

This is not weak, but MORALLY STRONG. If everyone acked towards others as he does, it would be a better world.

What Boehner said was ridiculous - he should be seen as the callow worm with those weird eyes he is. (I mean it about the eyes - I don't know why but he freaks me out when I see him on talk shows.)

18. Bingo, Kerry looks spineless
On the upside I hope he's toast as a presidential candidate, 'cause I don't think he's sincere in his "opposition" to the regime.

3. Here's what he should have said
"I'm sorry that I didn't deliver the line as it was written. Here is the text of the speech that was released to the media before the event: . From this it is crystal clear that I was referring to the unbelievable incompetence of George W. Bush and his administration... ."

This puts the intended phrase right out in front and shows how willfully dense the media acted in helping the right wing blow this way out of proportion.

8. oh christ on a cracker
(if I get flamed for that outburst, well good. it changes the subject)

Kerry did not apologize for something he did not do. he held his ground. he apologized that the wrong interpretation might have been hurtful to some people. for inadvertently, through a misdelivery of a joke, causing distress to anyone in uniform or their families, he is sorry. that is not weaseling - it is being sensitive and feeling - something our president and his henchmen cannot comprehend, as they call every fucking one of us terrorists.

5. Because he did not do anything wrong.
Because our Democrats are too fearful, and they probably pressured him to apologize. It happens all the time.

11. I agree with you!
Kerry had the balls to say he was sorry. He put an end to it - now if the media would do the same thing. (Fat chance!)

13. Well, he said what he said. It seems to have put an end to it.
And the repukes - bonner for one, haggard for another - have stepped into it again...

And for the first time in a long time, the media whores were quick and persistant in pointing out the hypocricy of all the phoney outrage compared to cheney, bonner, w's "nope, not here" wmd joke, etc, etc.

It was a thing of beauty.

It backfired BIGTIME and STILL has the repukes off message and exposing all their lies to the world...
