4. 2,973
not counting 24 missing and presumed dead and the hijackers. That number is used in most accounts.

6. Here is the answer I found:
How many died in 9/11?

2,740 Americans died in the September 11 attack.

As of June 2004, the official death count is listed as 2,976, here:

Most 9/11 Families Opt For Fund
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/06/15/national/main623139.shtml

Wikpedia lists victims by country, and excludes the terrorists, which
references 236 foreigners that died in the attack:

Non-American casualties of the September 11, 2001 Attacks
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-American_casualties_of_the_September_11%2C_2001_Attacks

TOTAL COUNT 2,976
minus foreigners - 236
AMERICANS 2,740

It's difficult to find an official number, reference this interesting article:

Fraud suspicions delay release of Sept. 11 death list
http://www.s-t.com/daily/09-02/09-10-02/a02wn023.htm
..."The medical examiner's office has been refining the victims list
for months, correcting misspellings, removing names of people who were
first listed as missing and later found alive, and eliminating
duplications, often of women listed under both their maiden and
married names.....police also insisted that names be withdrawn when
they are the subjects of fraud investigations. Authorities refuse to
say how many cases they are pursuing, but they concede most of the 22
names removed from the final list issued Friday were taken off at the
request of detectives..."

I found a web site dedicated to the September 11 victims, that lists
the number of victims as 2,996. This list includes terrorists involved
in the plot, so you would need to subtract the 19 known dead
terrorists to get a final number of 2,977. Subtract again the 236
foreigners and get 2,741 Americans. This number is only 3 people away
from the Wikpedia site.

5. I know you think of them only as numbers tony snow but
- 25 year old Marine Corporal Josh Watkins and
- 22 year old Marine Lance Corporal Nicholas Manoukian

are the last two casualties to be identified by the department of defense.

The numbers have names tony, but I know you and bush and those who support you can't be bothered.
