Calling Teresa Heinz Kerry -- Time for some $BIG into battle against Oil
Edited on Wed Oct-18-06 10:28 AM by Sensitivity
Big Oil has launched nuclear war against California's effort to jump-start
a New Energy economy. A massive Ad campaign is telling Californians that
the alternative energy initiative is really "wastefull bureaucarcy," that
that green energy means "foreign oil," that conservationist are crooks ... etc etc

Unfortunately, only Big Money can combat this. Hollywood and Silicon Valley
money is going into the fight.

The mutual interest in environmental issues that brought Teresa and John Kerry together are at a crossroads in California and there is not the
campaign limits that would prevent Teresa from making a big donation to
something that truly affects the future of the nation.

Big Oil fear that California could start an altenative energy bandwagon. Environmentalist locked in mortal combat with the Oil Lobby over Prop 87 - the tax on Oil.

As important as it is for Kerry to campaign to take back congress it may
be equally important for the Teresas of the world to fund the fight
against the Bush-Cheney Empire of Oil that is behind the cabal.

A big donation from Teresa Kerry would be both practical and symbolic.

1. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think that's what she uses her money for...
And why are you only calling on her to make a big donation?

2. The Kerry Family is the biggest money in the Senate -- She cannot
give much to congressional campaigns but she can give to this type of
initiative that she supports.

3. Actually, I do believe Rockefeller has the biggest money in the Senate...
I'm 99% sure that's what I read when their last financial reports were released...Rockefeller was richest and Kerry came second but only when the Heinz money was included (which Kerry does not have access to).

Are you talking about a personal donation for this or are you wishing she'd give money from the Heinz Family Philanthropies that she runs?

Here's a link to the HFP website if you haven't looked at it. It might interest you.

4. Teresa is a top donor to environmental issues for over twenty years
and they contact her foundation whenever they need an infusion of cash. She is likely already abreast of the situation.

in this battle.

Here is a link to Clinton wading into fight.

This is really monumental with the Oil Empire spending more on 1 initiative
in 1 state than they spend on all presidential campaigns combined.

6. My supposition is that she is already engaged in the battle.

She is usually ahead of most by years not days.

7. NO. Major donation would have made the news. Not her practice
to make big donations to single initiatives. Her foundations help
sponsor many environmental groups with relatively modest gifts to each.

8. She's been operating quietly for many years - splashy donations aren't her
style. My guess is that those involved have contacted here and are in touch. It's an issue she NEVER neglects.

9. What is Teresa holding onto her money for -- if not for a major challenge
like this fight for the environment.

10. Wow! You're really reaching aren't you? So because Clinton announces
Steve Bing's gift, Teresa Heinz Kerry must make a big donation?

Mrs. Kerry's commitment to philanthropy and the enviroment are well-known. She doesn't need to jump to prove anything to anyone!

11. What are you talking about? This is about defeating the Nation's Oil Addic
addiction, not about proving points.

12. It sounded to me like you want to force a donation
from someone who has spent decades supporting environmental issues. (If memory serves, she met her current husband at the Earth Summit in Rio in '92 or '93. Ahm, I think there is a committment to that issue that has a long and documented backstory.)

I am suspicious of your motives here as well. It sounds like another excuse is being given to trash THK in favor of someone else. I don't like this kind of silliness.

Go to the philanthropy address blm gave above and check out and see if she already gave. Otherwise, I think you are just fishing for derogatory comments on THK.

13. Sorry you completely missunderstand. I see a good opportunity
for positive action on a somewhat under-the-radar battle
for the future that is now raging in California.

Plus, I worked tirelessly to get her in the White House in 2003 and 2004.
