What do you think the reaction in the US will be if Repubs win in Nov.?
(i.e., If the Republicans maintain control of the House and the Senate.) Do you think that people will finally wake up and realize that the voting system is broken (i.e., the election was stolen), or do you think that the right and the corporate media will be able to con them once again into thinking that the right was just better at getting out the vote?

In this scenario, if the American people do wake up, what do you think they will do in response to realizing that the election was stolen?

5. i agree...evidence of fraud...dems lose...it's into the streets...
because it will be clear that opposition has been rendered powerless -- we have a one-party system, or not even that, a one-faction within a party system intent on endless war and war profiteering

Hell, it ought to be in the streets NOW.
I keep thinking college campuses will erupt as they did in the spring of 1970 and '72, but i barely hear a peep....

7. I was thinking about the college campus thing today when...
I heard "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield. I wonder if we'd have seen the same reaction from young adults if there had not been a military draft. Were they truly more idealistic, or were they protesting mostly because they had a very real stake in what happened? (I wouldn't fault them either way.)

4. I expect that there will be no change in congress. Or it will grow more
conservative due to fraud. People will not care much. Most people really won't pay attention.

6. People on DU and other similar sites
will be angry, shocked, depressed, suicidal, freaked-out, protesting in the streets --- take-your-pick, etc. Most of America will switch channels from 'American Idol' to 'Lost', yawn and go on with their lives. Based on their behavior during the last 6 years of the Bush junta, I honestly don't think the American people are going to really wake up until their neighbors start disappearing in the night, or they themselves get the knock on the door from the jack-booted thugs and are hauled off to Halliburton domestic internment camps.

9. You nailed it
I keep hearing the mantra in my head, over and over- "What is it going to take..."

If the status quo remains, I don't know whether to avoid DU and the news for a month after the election-or post like the devil. Probably the latter-I have the sinking feeling I'll need some serious emotional support.

10. Indifference, just like everything else political that happens.
More than half the country doesn't care at all. Our people will be furious, their people will gloat and the criminals will dismantle the rest of the country. Bye Bye America!

11. Don't know
I'm unsure what the tipping point from apathy to actually giving a crap for most Americans will be anymore...I guess I have no faith in the majority of people to even care.
