Rove's pal Bob Perry & the players behind the new "Swift Boat" smear group
"Swift Boat" financier Robert Perry has given $5 million to start "The Economic Freedom Fund" (http://www.economicfreedomfund.com/index.html)...and their "contribution form" (http://www.economicfreedomfund.com/EFF_ContributionForm.pdf) lists their "Treasurer," which is "Bell, McAndrews & Hiltachk, LLP Attorneys and Counselors at Law" (http://www.bmhlaw.com/).

http://www.patriotproject.com/2006/09/robert_j_perry_1.php

The Republican donor who helped bankroll the Swift Boat attacks on Democratic Sen. John Kerry's war record has given $5 million to a new group targeting Democratic candidates.

Bob J. Perry, a Texas homebuilder with close ties to White House advisor Karl Rove and former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, recently made the hefty donations to the Economic Freedom Fund, a newly created California group.

The group is a so-called 527 that is not subject to conventional campaign finance restrictions and can spend unlimited amounts on election advocacy, similar to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. In the 2004 presidential race, the group of Vietnam veterans made unsubstantiated allegations challenging Kerry's record of wartime heroism.

So far, the new group which lists Perry as its sole donor has spent slightly more than $500,000 on television ads and mailings criticizing Democratic Reps. Jim Marshall of Georgia and Alan Mollohan of West Virginia, according to a disclosure form filed last week with the Federal Election Commission. ...

1. Bobby Jack is my ex's cousin
And he was a failure at everything he ever did.

He was a Baptist preacher who couldn't get a gig because he was sooo boring.

Got a job as an assistant football coach and was released because of his constant relgious proselytizing. At Baylor University, no less.

So my late father-in-law gave him a few hundred residential lots in a west Houston development of his and funded him on his first houses.

He is a spooky, seriously unsettling fellow, up close and personal. We never got along very well.

6. Amazing. Just amazing...
...and the irony of it is that I'll bet his resume has all of the cardboard "successes" and none of the failures behind them.

Phony underpinnings, kind of like the way that Bush would like you to think that he "accepted Jesus" at the hands of Billy Graham, while it was actually a revival tent preacher in a Texas Holiday Inn whose trademark gesture was carrying a 12-foot-tall, one-wheeled wooden crucifix everywhere he went.

It's a very subtle ply because he doesn't actually tell people it was Graham...it's become an urban myth among the freeps and he just never corrects them.

From the Mother Jones article I linked to above:

The story of the redemption of George W. Bush, like any good parable, is richer for its several tellings. In the orthodox version, Billy Graham ministered to the prodigal Bush son at the family's Kennebunkport, Maine, compound in 1985, planting "a mustard seed" of faith that would blossom in George's soul. But in another account, Bush's come-to-Jesus moment arrived a year earlier, in the more humble setting of the Holidome restaurant at the Midland, Texas, Holiday Inn.

Great article, recommended reading for all DUers.

4. Time to put the faces of each and evey swiftboater along with bio's b
Everyone knows who John Kerry, Max Clelland, Jack Murtha is yet those that viciously attack them are virtually unknown to the majority of Americans.

Rats and roaches can't stand the light of day and it's high time these rats are pulled out of their holes.

5. i think in states where swiftboaters run ads -- this 527
should run ads ABOUT the swiftboaters -- the lies they've told -- their personal lives.

every bit of mud and filth they've ever created in their lives should be on display for everyone to see.
