Dems should be USING the GOP support for Lieberman AGAINST the hypocrites
Edited on Fri Aug-04-06 01:23 PM by blm
since they have spent decades telling their base the prolife issue is not one they will compromise. Or the issue of conservative judges.

Just proves that GOPs have been USING the prolife voters to get them to vote against themselves on working class economic issues.

They will endorse a prochoice, anti-conservative judiciary Dem as long as the Dem is for their wars.

They really hate their own base, don't they?

1. I agree with your sentiment, but doubt the Democrats will do anything
with Joe's GOP support. The killer instinct needed to use such a fact is not present in too many Democrats near the top of this Party. And, no guts, no glory.... literally.... for us.

I would, however like to disagree mildly with you on a couple of things: Joe is just BARELY "pro-choice" these days. I would go so far as his saying a woman needs to go to another hospital for a morning-after pill if one hospital wishes not to dispense them, even in cases of rape, is at the very least anti-woman, let alone NOT pro-choice at all. As far as his being an "anti-conservative judiciary Dem", I must disagree as well. His votes gave us Roberts and Alito on a silver platter. I will never forgive or forget those two appointments and his positions regarding them. Those positions and votes are as important to me as his support for the Republican Party's wars, and a big reason why I support his replacement ASAP.

3. He voted against Alito.
But he voted against the filibuster so it could be seen the same as voting FOR Alito to many of us who supported filibuster.

But, then, Feingold voted for Roberts, too, and few would call him out on his judiciary beliefs. Their senate vote records on judiciary nominations show Lieberman further left.

This is not a proJoe post by any means, but, one where the Dems need to see hypocrisy and USE it any time the opportunity presents itself. And I believe a growing number in the prolife movement are beginning to see they have been used.

2. The GOPeeps really don't like Joe all that much. Their just using him
as an example of the so called shift in the direction of the Democratic Party.

"Poor Joe, he was the Dem VP candidate in 2000, and now he's tossed aside because of the influence of the Cindy Sheehans, Micheal Moores, yada, yada".
