Please contact the DSCC and tell them not to support Lieberman if he bolts
Edited on Thu Jun-15-06 05:36 PM by Oregonian
If Traitor Joe lives up to his name once again and goes Indy in the Connecticut Senatorial race, then the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee must not give him money under any circumstances. Please contact them and tell them in no uncertain terms to support the winner of the DEMOCRATIC primary.

Send your comments to [email protected].

Thanks.

9. I don't care what is being said or reported,
If Lieberman loses the CT primary, the DSCC, or whatever it is called, is not going to support a candidate that lost in a valid primary. What is Schumer going to say? Ct Democrats don't get to choose their candidates? Shit, not going to happen. Both sides are talking bullshit right now. The odds are Lieberman is going to win the primary. I'm not a holy Joe fan. I think the puke should be kicked out of the Democratic Party, but the best way to accomplish that is to defeat him in a valid, properly conducted primary, not Florida, not Ohio. Until the results of the primary are in, everyone should keep their powder dry.

3. Good idea, here is my letter. I might have been too subtle.
I am a faithful and devoted Democratic. I enjoy the scuffle and play of our never dull primaries. I will never donate money to the Democratic National Committee again if the DCCC, the DLC or the DSCC support Joe Lieberman as an independent should he lose the Democratic primary on August 8.

It is all fine and good to mix it up to decide who our candidates will be each November but if any of the organized entities of the Democratic party, including all Democratic senators and representatives do not fully and completely support the DULY ELECTED Democratic candidate you will find that there are millions and millions of people who will just forget looking to the DNC, DLC or DSCC for leadership and will support our candidates individually and/or locally.

Note to DC Dems - the grassroots/blog community has swelled to epic proportions - don't piss it off. We can either be your best friend or worst enemy. And to beat the repugs you care going to need every single one of us.

5. Good job, Thanks!
I think it's good if they get a range of comments -- from fire-breathing to calmly thought out.

:hi:

6. Done
In my post, I related how the late great Sen. Paul Simon of Illinois graciously took defeat in the primaries, first for governor (he lost to Dan Walker) and later for president (he lost to Michael Dukakis). I said that I hoped all Democrats would follow his example--and if they didn't, that the DSCC would not give them any support.

10. I heard that Chuck is issuing a "clarifying statement"
in the wake of his ill advised statement.

We'll see....
