Chimp: "I was raised in the desert."
Someone just asked him about his statement that Iraq is about to "turn the tide." He said maybe he'd used the wrong words... "Y'see, well I was raised in the desert, but I understand, uh, tides turn..."

6. I thought he claimed
to have been raised in Midland, TX? I've been to Midland & it ain't no desert (except culturally, of course, ever since they closed Buddy's Drive-In Theatre and Armadillo Museum.)

7. yet more meaningless truisms
Sure, the tides of the oceans do turn - but how does that mean things are about change for the better in Iraq? No rational explanation whatsoever is presented.
The fact that W didn't actually grow up in a desert is only a minor issue.

10. Did anyone else just hear him refer to the Iraq Prez as "this guy"?
I was just turning on my office teevee and could swear he called the new president of Iraq 'this guy'.

How embarassed are we about 'this guy' ... Cowboy George.

By the way, is he in full throat faux texan song today, or what? He's got that twang thang on full blast.

11. Can no one ask: "Was Iraq a front in the War on Terror BEFORE WE INVADED?"
What a sorry excuse for a White House press corps!

12. If they had a pair...
...this administration would have been held accountable for its actions long before now.

Don't know when the kid-glove treatment started, but I sure as hell miss Helen Thomas, Dan Rather, and the rest of the corps who kept previous administrations honest. I know Helen's still there, but she's been effectively silenced.

Media in this nation are a fucking joke anymore.
