DFA Day of Action: Rockford, Illinois
The Rockford Progressive Meetup Group DFA/PDA hosted a reception and canvassing day on May 13th for national, state and local Democratic Candidates.

Candidates: Dick Auman, Dan Lewandoski, Gwen Gulley,
Margie Mullins, Rep. Chuck Jefferson and Greg Tuit

"Candidates had a chance to speak to supporters at a short reception at the Winnebago County Democratic Headquarters. Candidates and volunteers canvassed neighborhoods, promoting both their candidacy and the Democratic Party vision. Volunteers and candidates went out into the community and meet directly with local citizens stopping at over 300 homes. The event was covered by the media including the local daily paper and two different T.V. stations. The event was the lead story for the Saturday evening news."

1. Terrific!
Holly Johnson is a friend of mine, and on the executive board of the Ogle County Democrats. I don't know how she does everything she does. She has boundless energy.

Uhhh..it has been hard to get the Rockford Republican Rag to cover events for Democrats.

2. I know what you mean.
Our paper will cover actual Democratic party meetings, but won't put anything in about our DFA meetings. They won't even put the time or day or mention it.

I wish I were that energetic also. Great picture, BTW.
