Under penalty of death, GOP Candidate guarantees his reforms will work

NYS GOP Candidate Offers Pledge of the Century

A Republican candidate for New York State Governor offers a historic pledge to guarantee his reforms will work under penalty of death. Lorenz Kraus announced that his pledge will reduce per capita state debt, spending, and taxes...under of death. Read the full pledge.

Albany, NY (PRWEB) May 22, 2006 -- Lorenz Kraus, a Republican candidate for New York State governor, announced his Pledge of the Century, today, in a letter to supporters from www.lorenzkraus.com.

Lorenz Kraus resolves that two reforms will bring a reduction in real per capita state debt, taxes, and spending over 4 years -- under penalty of death.

This is the first time any leader has guaranteed his reforms with his life.

"This is not a 'No new taxes—kiss my ass!' pledge," wrote Kraus.

Kraus proposes that the state budget be split into mini-budgets that allow each legislator the right to allocate his share and earn special bonuses for cutting debt and taxes. Voters would judge legislators on how they manage their individual budget.

For every billion of debt paid off, legislators would earn a $40,000 bonus. For every billion reduction in state taxes, they would earn $20,000. "For every $8 million paid in bonuses, we cut debt or taxes by $1 billion. That's a good deal!" said Kraus. Currently, the state has no incentives for fiscal responsibility.

The second reform requires the governor to first issue a spending limit that the legislators work under to achieve their individual goals. "Reverse budgeting will prioritize their wish list."

By smashing the power structure of state leaders, letting the individual legislators take responsibility to spend-down debt and taxes, Kraus creates a spirit of fiscal sanity uniting New Yorkers. "Let's use the greed of our legislators to liberate us from the state debt."

The one-time Wal-mart associate filed papers with the Board of Elections April 7th. Kraus voted for Bush in 2000 and Kerry in 2004. "Bankrupting America is wicked," said Kraus "especially, by a GOP Congress and President. That's why their polls are in the toilet. My pledge breaks us out of that." Kraus says, "Voters want a real guarantee to control debt that restores their trust." Kraus is a 1994 Siena College graduate with a B.A. in political science.

A recent poll showed a wide open Republican primary. Nearly 70% of Republicans do not support William Weld or John Faso. "Everyone wants value for their vote." Kraus declared.

On Republican hopes of beating Spitzer, "If you want to beat Spitzer you need to be morally aggressive. Spitzer can fall just like the Soviets—and for the same reasons. I can make that case. Neither Weld nor Faso has what it takes to take a bite out of Spitzer. Voters want someone who believes in their freedom."

Kraus is the self-published author of The Morally Good Politician. His most recent book, Two Years to a Tax-Free Society, posits that a trust fund could be used to pay for security, so that people don't have to pay taxes. The profits from the book are used to start a genuine tax-free city to uphold the concept that "property rights are moral absolutes."

1. Desperate? More like certifiable!
What a complete whacko. There's too much for me to comment on at the moment, but the thing that first jumped out at me was to give bonuses to legislators. What a piss poor fucking bad idea.

Elected officials should never receive a "bonus" for governing. Never, never, never. There's enough corruption stemming from cash greed as it is. We don't need to seed it with a "bonus".

Since his first act as governor would be to eliminate the death penalty.

BTW check out his favorite artist linked on his website- if you dare. (Aryan porn holy cards?) The lesbian nudes alone would doom his moral candidacy I should think. As for art lovers- well, they are not likely voting for him anyway.

What a nut. When you lead in the polls like Spitzer they start falling out of the trees into the GOP meltdown.
