Have You Altered Your Phone Habits Now That The NSA Is Data Mining?.,,,
It would be interesting to note if the American people have altered their telephone conversation now that we know that the NSA is potentially listening in. I know Randi talked a bit about this today. Somebody should do a poll - Gallup, MSNBC, CNN,etc.

I say a lot of "jihad", mention our coward-in chief, and every other derogatory comments I can come up with. If they want to come after me, I'll give them plenty of good reasons

22. Same here
Over the last five years, I've made it a habit to say "Hi NSA!" on a regular basis when using my cell phone.

3. No, I already assumed that listening/data mining were occuring
I didn't think it was on such a broad scale, but I wasn't terribly surprised either.

5. Nah, I've been saying a big hello the FBI, et al, for years now.
Edited on Mon May-22-06 05:30 PM by mcscajun
As long as Bush has been occupying our WH, I've been saying the occasional FU to Ashcroft (when he was around), to the FBI, NSA, and anyone else listening. And "Helllllllllllloooooooooooooooo! Agent Mike!"

It amuses the hell out of the folks on the other end of the line. I can't speak for the reactions of those intercepting my calls.

16. If I remember
I will say something like - excuse me NSA can you hear me - just want to let you know I still think GW Bush is a criminal and believe he belongs in prison - have a nice day. I also might add that I think you haven't gotten rid of the 1st amendment quite yet so I felt I should use it while I still can.

17. No.....
I had a sneaking feeling that they were listening to us and watching us early on. It didn't come as much of a surprise when it went public. The only thing that surprised me was how brazen and self righteous they were, as if they had done something LOVELY! Besides if they want to hear me talk about how much I dislike Bush or Iraq or discuss my sister's bad feet with her, they can go for it.

I know they watch forums like DU, and I've had several interesting visitors to my peace board. The most recent one is the State department who came to visit me twice in a couple of days. I took screen caps of their visits from my site meter, and posted them. If you want to say, "Hi," you can visit this link.

http://platypuspool.com/blog/platypuspool/?p=84#more-84

If you want to also greet their Federal Brothers from the CIA, DOJ and their blood brothers from Halliburton, simply click the "Merry Pranksters" category to the right of the board for the screen caps which showed their comings and goings. They have all been there too.

My email? I don't even want to think about it. I hope they enjoyed it.

20. I changed my outgoing phone message...
at home and on my cell, to this:

"You have reached xxx-xxxx, the xxxxxxxxx residence.

Please note that due to illegal orders by George W. Bush, any message you choose to leave, as well as any return calls, may be monitored by the National Security Agency.

Should you choose to risk it, please leave your name and number, and we’ll get back to you, assuming we haven’t been rendered to a CIA prison somewhere...

After you hang up, please call or write your representative and urge them to impeach Bush and Cheney.

Have a nice day, and remember, it’s up to all of us to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Well, whaddya think?

21. I did something along that lines
back in '97 I had a message on my voicemail at work that told people "your call may be monitored by the KGB for quality assurance purposes".....
now my home phone says "your call may be monitored by the NSA for quality assurance purposes"

When did the USA become a soviet joke?

(you know, in the US the people own the government, in the Soviet Union, the government owns the People).... except now the government wants to OWN us....

Sad.
