Titanic Band - Could This Be Analogy To The Modern Day MSM?....
As the Titanic sank - The music the band played was cheerful and gay. The selections were mostly ragtime and gave the impression to the passengers on deck that all was under control, there was no need to panic. Many of the survivors expressed their gratitude to the Titanic band for helping to maintain an air of decorum during the scramble for the lifeboats. Others have criticized the band for playing. Some felt that having the band on deck gave people a false impression that things weren't that bad and it caused many to take the situation lightly, thus preventing many from entering the life boats. This argument is left to conjecture, but what is known is that the band's music did help to soothe the passengers and most likely prevented panic as the last of the boats were leaving.

*Co = Titanic

MSM = band

Music = news

1. But that final tune was probably the hymn "Autumn."

"The way the band kept playing was a noble thing. I heard it first while still we were working wireless, when there was a ragtime tune for us, and the last I saw of the band, when I was floating out in the sea with my lifebeltt on, it was still on deck playing "Autumn." How they ever did it I cannot imagine."

There has always been conjecture as to what was the last song played by the Titanic's band. The wireless operator, a credible witness according to Snopes, stated that the hymn Autumn ("Mighty God, While Angels Bless Thee") was being played as the Titanic made its final slide into the sea. Composer Gavin Bryars' The Sinking of the Titanic uses the main melody of Autumn throughout his haunting work.
