Are "conservatives" lining up to take jobs away from Immigrants
BY DOING THOSE JOBS THEMSELVES? Or are they just posturing for political reasons? Call me skeptical. We all know "conservatives" don't give a fuck about anything but ensuring dems don't take back congress so they have to keep the base on edge. Fuck the lettuce in the field, the last thing "consevatives" want is the bush crime syndicate to be investigated and be held accountable. What an ungodly non "conservative" thing to happen.

HATE GAYS, HATE LIBERALS AND NOW HATE IMMIGRANTS.

1. The corporatists need scapegoats like the Jews of the past
No ovens or gas chambers for illegal immigrants...just KBR concentration camps.

5. make sure angry working class anglos don't go after THEM
set up a phony scapegoat to deflect their anger.

Russian czars set the peasants against the Jews. Our ruling class sets anglos against immigrants.

7. Meanwhile
they continue to be "employed" by "employers" and "conservatives" continue to hate those doing the work. How fucking convenient.

2. Having some group to hate is what keeps the (working class) right
together. I think one of the biggest blows to their way of life was when Communism fell apart. Where could they place their hate rhetoric? We Dems took the place of the Communists as the group to hate and blame their miserable lives on. Now they just add to the mix of groups to hate.

3. Of Course Not
I'll check the local taco shops, McDonald's, and the car wash to get confirmation.

4. Not at current wages...
...which is kinda the point.

Currently, illegal immigrants allow employers to pay substandard wages. Eliminate the hiring of illegals, and employers will have to pay more.

6. Now don't get to thinking that you might have the right to an
opinion there. And certainly don't try to make the point that all the cheap and illegal labor drives down wages. How dare you!

14. But post a reasonable response to such drivel
And you'll go deaf from the crickets chirping. I've done it a couple of times today, and gotten no (zip, nil, dare I say nada?) reply for my troubles.

Seems like some folks just want to post and run and decline to engage any substantive discussion of neoliberal economic policies and their own complicity in driving down wages. But that's just my opinion, which I'm sure will get deep-sixed before too long.

15. Raise the minimum wage and enforce it...
and employers will no longer be able to pay substandard wages.

But god fucking forbid we try some crazy commie bullshit like that when we can create a good wedge issue by scapegoating immigrants.

Trickle down economics has proven to be an abject failure. It's bizarre that so many people claiming to be moderates and lefties seem to think that it's the way that it's an effective way of elevating wages.

16. I'm not disagreeing with you, but that's just one part of the solution IMO
It has to be combined with penalties to employers that hire undocumented workers, tightened border security, and a sensible deportation plan.

11. They aren't trying to win here
They are trying not to lose - there is a BIG difference. This is just pathetic - like they are going to go after the same bastards that gave them the money to get elected in the first place.

Well, I got some swamp land in Florida for sale, too.

We better start acting like winners, cause they are losers and they need to be kept on the run.
They have B*sh so they won't be just runners, its more like the Boston Marathon here.

They know they lose the house - did you hear Krystal on Russert? I want the senate too - and we are going to get it back also. We cannot allow any cheating in this election, if they ever had a reason to cheat it is now. If they lose, the consequences for them are so severe. If they lose their BEST CASE is two years of subpeonas and hearings from the "formerly republican impotent" congress - The worst case (probable case) is they lose some of those fights, and what happened to Clinton will appear so tame.

I'll say it to my dieing breath - We are a tar and feather society, I think it is a basically good thing. And Karma is real, and it is really coming around for ol' Texas.

We can wait a few more months - and then, as Reagan says "we trust but verify" this election.

By the way, if they do attempt to cheat there way out of this 2006 election and we catch em, I think there is a very good chance we can figure out just how they did it in 2004 - Wouldn't that be fun to watch.

Good for you Bosshog, a good post.

Joe

13. This entire focus on immigration is all about bigotry and votes brought
by the bigots - PLUS - the conservative drive to eliminate all government assistance while using bodies for their purposes.(conservative here equals money barons and their agents).

This Bill and the drivers behind it have brought us a most classic case of hypocrisy.

18. That's what I keep thinking when I hear these neocon fools call in
to whatever right wing talking show and say shit like:

"There are no jobs that Americans won't do"

Ok, asshole. Give me your phone number. Come to my house and clean it up. Then clean out the cat box, clean my bathroom, and mow my lawn. I'll give you five dollars.

What? You refuse to? What happened to your work ethic?
