After the Long Binge

Our country is on a big drunk. This binge has been going on for some time and the money is about to run out and we will have no choice but to sober up. After we sleep it off, we will awaken in rags, unshaven and confused about what we have done and whom we may have slept with.

We will look around at the decline. No jobs. Huge deficits. Debt as far as the eye can see. Mired in a war we accepted after the first drink. Where do we go from here?

The wealthy bartenders stand behind the bars and smile contentedly as we stagger into the streets. They now have all our money and all we have left are our war stories. Hopefully we can find shelter before it begins to rain...

Same concept...that we've been partying on borrowed money and illusions, and partying all the harder to keep the illusions at bay....
