Hypothetical: If Bush's "leak" had not been traced back to him..
...would it have still qualified as being "declassified"? How would anyone know?

Did it actually become declassified when it was traced to him?

Why aren't reporters asking this question?

1. They're trying to cover up the obvious, hence their lies become obvious

When they go about saying 'we believed the WMDs were there', when intell insiders were screaming at them that they weren't, and then subsequent reports from groups like the UN and ISG follow-up (David Kay and Chas. Duelfer) prove the WMDs were non-existent...it's pretty hard to not look foolish.

Lives were at stake and BushCo got it all wrong. David Kay in Jan 2004 testimony used about those words

"Let me begin by saying, we were almost all wrong, and I certainly include myself here." Later, Mr. Kay was the victim of data theft at SAIC:

3. What I want to know is this:
If it was declassified, then why didn't everyone know that 3 years ago? Why wasn't it common knowledge among journalists, politicians, etc? Why would they have appointed a Special Prosecutor to trace the leaks, if the information was declassified, and therefore, NOT leaked? :P

5. But Fitz was only and specifically looking at the Plame issue
and from what I know, the admitted leak/declassification portion was all of the stuff except the Plame identity leak.

Does that dog hunt?
