"The wheels of justice grind slowly but exceedingly fine..."
I don't know where this quote originates but it seems appropriate for these times.

We have watched our nation fall under the spell of liars, tyrants, warmongers, and thieves and we long for the day that justice will be served. We are both angry and sorry for those that have fallen under the spell and cannot see what is happening right in front of their eyes. How could it happen? But, I do believe that justice will be served.

1. I agree.
The wheels of justice do turn slowly. But in the end, everyone gets their just desserts.

5. Merchant of Venice?
Would that be likely?

I read everything Shakespeare ever wrote, and I am not a Shakespeare lover. Not surprised I wouldn't remember if the quote had come from Shakespeare.

(I had everything he wrote, and wanted to get rid of it, so read it first.)

I'll try looking for the wheels of justice quote using Shakespeare.

4. "The mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small;"
Wheels don't grind. Usually. They spin.

<http://www.bartleby.com/81/11430.html>

E. Cobham Brewer 1810–1897. Dictionary of Phrase and Fable. 1898.

Mills of God grind slowly (The).

“Dii pedes lanatos habent” (Petronius). Vengeance may be delayed, but it will come when least expected. 1

“The mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small;
Though with patience He stands waiting, with exactness He grinds all.”

Longfellow: Retríbution.

9. Too late for some
Unfortunately, justice has arrived a bit too late for nearly 3,000 dead US troops, hundreds of thousands of casualties, and hundred of thousands of dead and injured Iraqis. Too little, too late.
