US loses Shi'ite support, it's over in Iraq , From slim to Zero today

My son who is almost 18, and very politically informed, saw this news on tv tonight and his first words were, if you thought they had a slim chance before, they have zero chance now, its over.
Edit for missing point: On the NBC news broadcast tonight there was talk of the Shi'ite thinking of forming a Shi'ite government, basically telling the others to take a hike. That was what my son saw, the Unity government shot to hell so to speak.

Iraq's ruling Shi'ite Islamist Alliance bloc demanded on Monday that U.S. forces return control of security to the Iraqi government after what it called "cold-blooded" killings by troops of unarmed people in a mosque.

"The Alliance calls for a rapid restoration of (control of) security matters to the Iraqi government," Jawad al-Maliki, a senior Alliance spokesman and ally of Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari, told a news conference.

I saw a news report the other day that said if the Shi'ites get back in the war - currently, they're sitting it out after brokering a truce with the US - but if the Shi'ites join back in, it will double the size of the insurgent force fighting us.

Time for another news story about the great Iraq school system. No, nothing bad going on here. Move right along.

1. Insurgents broke into a full high school classroom a few days ago...
...and beheaded a teacher in front of his class.

The good Iraqi school news: The class all escaped with their lives.

Bad news: This IS the good news.

2. Your son is right, we have zero chance now!
It is insane to stay in Iraq after all the killings, let's bring the troops home!

3. Always was a 'no-win' situation
Now obvious enough for all but the hard core 30 percent of americans to see....the same 30 percent who thought we should stay in VietNam
