1. I think it was declared unconstitutional in clinton's term. But, if they
want to do that and let * use it, thata could be good for us. He would "line item veto" things like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, education funding, WIC funding, student loans, etc. The American public would be outraged.

2. Once again, they want to pass a law that is ALREADY been decided
unconstitutional. When will they learn?

6. When have they ever let a pesky thing...
like the Constitution stop them from doing what they want to do?

3. who needs checks and balances anyways, just checks (like money)
Start with judicial, legislative, executive.

OK.
Now have executive appoint judicial. Check.
Now have legislative bow down to whatever executive wants. Check.
Now have legislative say "wait a darn tootin' minute there, that's a bit much". Executive replies "line item veto, tough shit". Check mate.

4. Bush can't function when all he has to do is sign
The last thing we need is King George deciding which districts get their pork barrel and which starve.

5. then doesn't this mean
GOPers are really saying they are incapable of curbing their own spending? they are abdicating their responsibility to put forth a "sane" budget? is it a cry for help - "Stop me before I PORK again"
