Bush: Realized how bad Katrina was when he saw people screaming on TV
This is from the interview Bush gave to ABC:

http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=1671087&page=1

VARGAS: When you look back on those days immediately following when Katrina struck, what moment do you think was the moment that you realized that the government was failing, especially the people of New Orleans?

BUSH: When I saw TV reporters interviewing people who were screaming for help. It looked — the scenes looked chaotic and desperate. And I realized that our government was — could have done a better job of comforting people.

9. Exactly!
Why bother funding Homeland Security and the National Guard? The government should just invest in CNN! :eyes:

16. CNN had a poll out today on Katrina
They polled New Orleans residents about the government's response to Katrina:

The poll said 23 percent of New Orleans residents approve of how Bush has handled the response to Katrina and 22 percent approved of FEMA's response.

5. So now it's "our government"...
the other day he was saying "MY government" - regarding vetting the Dubai government-owned firm with which "HIS government" has a security contract.

14. I know full well what I would do if that man tried to
"comfort" me, but I could get arrested and disappeared for coming out and saying it.

So he thinks all the Feds really needed to do is more COMFORTING?? Not more actual HELPING??????

8. We've got dadgum sattelites that can see your butt crack from space
but he waits to see it on FAUX news before he acts? This is really into ass-backwards territory here. Gotta agree with Brownie in his interview on NBC, if he (Brown) had made up a story about terrorists blowing up the levees, he'd have had a battalion in NOLA in a heartbeat. What a crock o'

13. Oh, when it comes to Katrina, it's "our government"...
It continues to amaze me that when Bush is in his usual arrogant, self-absorbed, "I-am-King" mode.....he talks about "MY government" and "MY administration" without a single thought that the government is NOT his personal possession....his personal toy....

HOWEVER....when HE KNOWS he looks bad, or knows he has made a bad decision, he says, "OUR government" (as he did in describing how "our" government could have done a better job.)

No, George,...... when it comes to Katrina,.... YOU and your equally-incompetent CRONIES could have done a better job. The American people picked up the ball.... that YOU dropped....and helped in EVERYWAY possible. Compassion is a trait, Mr. Bush, that you will NEVER understand.

15. It's too bad that most Americans did not see and hear...
this asshole. Most of the Bush Regime scandals are too complex for most to grasp or bother to understand. The Katrina disaster and this asshole's reponse is simple. He and his incompetent fools are liars and arrogant jerks that don't give a rat's ass about anything but their own power and money.
