1. Hemp seed oil is also nutritious - loaded with omega 3 fatty acids
to help boost "good" cholesterol to regulate "bad" cholesterol.

4. I love this GOP quote:

"You pass industrial hemp today and then something else and then something else," Republican Assemblyman Dennis Mountjoy said. "And then at some point you will get legalized marijuana."

Right. And then the next thing you know, it's man-on-box-turtle. It's all so logical, isn't it? :eyes:

10. And of course it is factually untrue as well
because if you start widespread industrial hemp farming, it will contaminate ANY outdoor and possibly indoor marijuana crop by pollinating it.

And as i understand it, seedless pot is better...

More hemp equals less pot.

5. Federal hegemony was designed to stop stuff like this
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 04:29 PM by firefox
All it does is give us something to talk about. Did the US sign away our right to grow hemp to Canada anyway as another layer of concrete in section 12 or 14 of NAFTA?

It makes me think of Jack Herer. The guy deserves the Medal of Freedom. He has a $100,000 challenge regarding hemp on his homepage that has never been awarded for disproving what he says about hemp saving the planet- http://www.jackherer.com/ He has an online edition of "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" that takes about an hour to read. It is a good insight into the corruption of government and the wonderfulness of cannabis.

The intellectual battle to Free Cannabis was won by Jack Herer. I too declare victory in the intellectual defense of Free Cannabis. But if anyone wants to battle on with a reason for prohibition, this is an opportunity to attack.

6. "Analysts from the Office of National Drug Control Policy...
said there are also concerns that hemp farms could be used to hide marijuana plants."

The way I understand it, industrial hemp is tall and slender, whereas marijuana plants are short and bushy. I've also read that planting the two close together results in cross-pollination which results in marijuana plants with less THC--what marijuana grower would want that? I'm just one guy with a computer and Google, and I was able to find some simple hemp factoids--do these people do no research at all before they comment on these things?

"This measure does not allow the cultivation of marijuana," (Republican Chuck) DeVore (of Irvine) said. "All we are doing is legalizing in the United States what is already being done in 30 different nations."

Right on. And it's about time, too.

12. Yes
They just see it all as on particular plant, when it is as diverse as can be.

certain breeds are used for smoking/eating and certain strains are used for fiber/fuel/seed

it's fairly easy to test it for potentcy, and they DO contaminate commercial marijuana crops, which helps in their little WAR on Drugs.

13.  ONDCP Charter says to cement Schedule 1 substances
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 05:59 PM by firefox
The OMB addressed the lies of the ONDCP last year. They said that a section of their charter was to keep Schedule 1 substances where they are. Recognizing that this is impossible to do without lying and stonewalling, the OMB basically said that ONDCP was doing their job and lying is acceptable.

There is a similar situation in applying the Data Quality Act to the lies of the ONDCP. The challenge to the Schedule One Lie concerning cannabis using the Data Quality Act from Americans for Safe Access- http://www.safeaccessnow.org/ and wikipedia- http://tinyurl.com/b2av5 - is a fine example of corruption and stonewalling and cementing by institutional machinery meant to keep the status quo. There is not a good summary article on the history of the challenge, but this CommonDreams article is a start - http://tinyurl.com/axmha

My saying is to zoom out. The biggest statement I can make about cannabis prohibition is that there was never a reason for it in the first place and that it is all a fraud. The biggest statement I can make about what I have learned in developing a cannabis perspective is that the lie, or the big lie, is a tool of government/rule. The biggest reason for continued CP (cannabis prohibition) is corruption. In particular it is a corruption of purpose by government for purposes of rule. It abandons the mission of the federal government as outlined in the Preamble to promote the general welfare. That is part of the reason I do not think we have legitimate government and that "We are ruled by treason."
