So the media gave Howard Dean a T-shirt in Wisconsin in 04.
This was a moment that stood out in the minds of many of us.

An edgy moment of own-expense laughter is the best that reporters and an about-to-drop-out presidential hopeful can hope for, as a campaign enters what everyone knows is its final hours.

Hence, candidate -- and media critic -- Howard Dean reacted with humor Tuesday in Milwaukee as journalists presented him with a long-sleeve white T-shirt. It carried the motto "Establishment Media" in front, and a slogan swiped from Dean in the back: "We Have the Power, Dean Press Corps 2004."

I was reminded of this while I was reading the Kos diary of BriVT today, about how the internet community may be making a difference in the battle with Hardball and Deborah Howell at the Post.

That shirt given to Howard Dean after Wisconsin was such an arrogant display of hubris and power. It inspires me to keep going to Media Matters and Think Progress and doing their activist calls there. Rapid Response Network has now gone down to county level, and we work with that also. MoveOn's activist calls, all of it makes a difference.

2. I remember hearing Matea Gold telling Dean's response then...

when they handed him the t-shirt there in Wisconsin. He took it with a sense of humor...but he said something like not for long.

I noticed Louise Slaughter posted at Kos to encourage us to keep up the fight against Chris Matthews.

The WP is feeling some pinch as well, meeting with bloggers.
