Need help with my LTTE on Bush and 9/11
Several letters in today's NH Register characterized the Clinton Admin. as weak on terrorism and Bush as strong. I am writing a response. Does anyone have a cite I can refer to about

*Bush appointing Cheney as head of the Antiterrorism Task Force prior to Sept. 11 and Cheney held NOT ONE meeting

*Condi's prepared speech to be given on 9/12/01 when she was still National Security Advisor that did not mention terrorism, only missile defense

*Bush Admin. warned by Clinton about Osama being his biggest terrorism threat when Bush came into office and Bush ignored warning and basically dismantled the antiterrorism network Clinton had set up

*We had plenty of warnings about Osama through our intelligence agencies, clearly without warrantless wiretaps on American citizens

I know all of these statements are true but I would like to offer some evidence. If anyone has any links to cites that back them up I would be so grateful!

2. With the (mis)Administrations claims that Patriot Act and illegal
wiretaps are needed and have stopped terror attacks, where are the people convicted? Like they wouldn't have them front and center on every newscast to show us how they caught so and so, who was going to blow up this or that?

Hell, I prevented a terrorist from blowing up the Brooklyn Bridge (but I don't want to share who, how or when) - anyone want to buy the bridge?

3. There was only one administration that has indicted a foreign terrorist...
Yes, Clinton, for the 1993 WTC attack.

So there!

4. That was Patrick Fitzgerald, right?
I remember reading about that. Was the guy convicted?

That's interesting. Come to think of it, I can't name another foreign terrorist the Bush admin. has indicted.

7. I have read Clarke's book. The only problem is
that the RWers totally disbelieve anything he says. They say he is some kind of disgruntled ex-employee.
