Lynn Swann just confirmed he's running for office in PA (Sugar Bowl)
I don't know how many of you were watching the Sugar Bowl tonight, but at the end of the game Lynn Swann, one of the announcers, just confirmed he'll be running for office in PA. What a GOP asswipe! I hope the folks in PA have had their fill of GOP idiots.

BTW, congrats to the Mountaineers!

1. He can forget it.
We're not in the mood. And his fame is long gone.
PA. will go totally blue next time.

2. Rendell is almost unstoppable
I'm not to fond of politicians, but you've got to admire Rendell for his ability to use his office as governor effectively. He is such a "get things done" kind of guy, that I reckoned his talents would be wasted as governor. Instead, he's changed the office and the way it runs. He brings people together, makes deals, gets things done. He's amazing.

So, Swann might be a good looking guy (never laid eyes on him, so I don't know) but he'd have to be something really remarkable to be able to out-Rendell Rendell.

7. Assume what?
He's a GOP asswipe. That's all I need to know. But for your consideration:

"While Swann hasn't run for political office, he has been active in GOP ranks lately. He introduced President Bush at many of his appearances in Western Pennsylvania during the recent presidential campaign. Swann and Bush were even pictured on political literature they were handing out."
-- Pittsburg Post Gazette

And just look at the sites that love Swannie:

10. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Running for office as a Republican also requires that you pay the political piper; ie, stumping for Bush and other GOP candidates as Swann has done gives endorsement to a party platform which is diametrically opposed to everything in which I believe. Like a good little GOP asswipe, Swann is running on a platform that is anti-choice and goes so far as to propose cutting state funds for any family counseling services offered by Planned Parenthood. He has also offered up a tax cut plan that sounds like a page out of the Bushreich playbook (favoring tax cuts for the wealthy and big business).

To insinuate that I am a fascist (yes, I can spell it out) because I'm not fair to Republicans like Swann is ludicrous. When and if I want to vote for the GOP and what it stands for I'll sign up at Freeperville.

11. Funny . . . Another GOPer running on his party's "accomplishments"
of the past . . . like they still try to convert blacks because they're the "party of Lincoln" . . . but they're not the party of the 60s racial equality issues . . .

13. It always amazes me....
....how many African-American athletes seem to forget their roots after they make all the big money! I mean, it is probably true of MOST athletes, but the black athlete, almost always, comes from a life where athletics was the ONLY thing that picked their lives up to where nobody would ever look down on them again. Then, people like Swann will run a for a political party that literally TURNED THEIR BACKS on what was mostly blacks in New Orleans, starving and dying after Hurricane Katrina, as the head of their party left Texas and went WEST instead of EAST while his citizens were suffering......

14. Yap, its amazing what success will do to people's brains..
they all turn repuglican. Unfortunately, majority of people are no
where near getting rich but vote repug because they dream of getting
rich. I have come a long way financially but would never turn coat
and become a rethuglican.

15. His platform just has to be called "The Immaculate Deception"
Edited on Tue Jan-03-06 07:50 PM by KamaAina
yes, I do know it was Franco, but Franco's a good Dem who would never have to run on "The Immaculate Deception" :-)

edit: what a perfect end to the faux-Sugar (Aspartame?) Bowl. A faux-candidate. :puke:

I used to like him since I'm a Steelers fan. I wont like him if he is a republican governor.
