2. Not a Hillary apologist
by a long shot - BUT she served on the board when the "old man" Sam was in charge who had different practices than the present - and it was the biggest game in town ala
Arkansas which she was supporting.

Nevertheless, if this taints hera(no matter hw wrong) and prevents her from winning the nomination, so be it.

Go Wes.

3. She left in 1991
Sorry, this is gutter politics. I don't even like Hillary, but I dislike this kind of pointless bullshit spin even more. It's also why I don't like Greens pretending to be Democrats.

4. Wal-Mart and Union Busting is No longer a Green Issue
Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 10:59 PM by radio4progressives
Union Busting should be a very strong Democratic party issue, but when Bill Clinton pushed NAFTA - that was the death nell for organized labor - and the fall of the DP strength.

This issue goes right to the very core of how destructive the DLC has been to the party.

I don't think any democrat ever heard Bill Clinton talk about the prospect of NAFTA during his campaign in 91. He popped that on the American Public AFTER he was elected - for me, it was right out of the blue. I had no idea if it was good thing or a bad thing, Labor said it was terrible and I trusted their insights, but their voices were silenced eventually.

It's taken about a decade to feel it's full impact on our ecomony and job market, and everything attached to job security.

It's all gone now, virtually and it's all thanks to NAFTA.

I had no idea that Hillary Clinton served on Wal Mart board, i don't give a damn if it was before the old man died - policies were implemented to serve Wal Mart interests and businesses like Wal Mart.

This is all finally coming together now, i so much better understand the evil impact the DLC has had on our economy, indeed our entire democracy.

5. Then stick to those issues
I am not a fan of all of the economic policies implemented in the 90's either, but in fairness, there was a long term plan in all of it too. A plan Gore would have followed to bring the standard of living up around the world, that Bush didn't and neither would any other Republican.

In any event, that isn't what I said. I said I hate distorted gutter politics and that's what the 1991 board seat is. Sam Walton DID have a different plan for Wal-mart and that's just a fact. Greens are horrible about doing this manipulative crap against Dems, they do it more against Dems than they do Republicans. If they want to run on their own issues, fine. But if they want to run as Democrats and bash other Democrats and confuse the public as to what the Democratic Party policies really are, then fuck 'em. Goddamned bunch of babies who would drive themselves off a cliff before they turned the wheel over to somebody who planned to drive them to a McDonald's instead of the Tofuteria. ACK! The horror!

7. oh sure
The DLC are running around ranting that every Dem who voted against the war or against the bankruptcy bill should be thrown out of the Party. Yep, that's exactly what's happening. :eyes:

It ain't the DLC who is lockstep Republican like, and I'm not a fan of theirs either.
