condi defends detaining people who've committed no crime, because...
"if they commit the crime, thousands of innocent people die."

Rice defends unlimited detention of suspected terrorists

WASHINGTON - US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice defended the unlimited detention of suspected terrorists saying, in an interview published on Tuesday, that it benefitted the United States and the entire world.

“You can’t allow somebody to commit the crime before you detain them, because if they commit the crime, thousands of innocent people die,” she told the USA Today daily.

(She's not stupid. She just hopes that everyone else is.)

2. Good thinking, Condi -
making a case for a preemptive strike on North Korea, Iran or Syria perhaps?

What a fool.

7. They are sending her to Europe this week...
to clean up the mess that the "black sites" is creating in London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, and a host of other countries. She is hoping to quash the story that is getting a lot more press over there than it is here. The EU is investigating, and if there was torture in those sites, and you know there has been and continues to be, this could blow up big in Europe. More great international relations on the administration's part here.

This combined with the story that Bush tried to talk Blair into bombing Al Jazeera, to quash the chemical weapons use in Fallujah by U.S. forces, which he know Al Jazeera would cover, is front page stuff in the press over there. If that document that nearly made it to the press, that the Brits suppressed ever surfaces, these two stories will tie together very quickly. And light-up like "willy pete" at 10 Downing street, as well as 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

So, Condi is on the "Torture, and Secret Prisons Are Good for Democracy" tour.

11. And I'll bet no one asked her...
...how she knows they're -going- to commit a crime before they do it and without evidence to support the suspicion.

What -were- those Founding Fathers thinking of when they didn't establish a totalitarian regime without rights for anyone but the elite?
