Schmidt should EAT HER WORDS
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 07:47 PM by georgia10
I found her maiden speech, when she first joined the House. This is what she pledged back in September:

This House has much work to do. On that we can all agree. We will not always agree on the details of that work. Honorable people can certainly agree to disagree. However, here today I accept a second oath. I pledge to walk in the shoes of my colleagues and refrain from name-calling or the questioning of character . It is easy to quickly sink to the lowest form of political debate. Harsh words often lead to headlines, but walking this path is not a victimless crime. This great House pays the price.

Feel free to use that in your letters, emails, calls...

10. Science has proven that Republicans are less bothered
by hypocrisy than normal people are.

6. I'm NOT 100% certain Jean Pigfuck even WON
Paul Hackett was pretty much neck and neck with her 50%-50% and THEN there was like this...40 minute hold-up whereby NO votes were coming in...and the GOP DIEBOLD machine were saying:

"Oh it's due to the humidity...the voting machines have shut down."

40 minutes later, when that County was OBVIOUSLY dehumidified courtesy of DIEBOLD Dehumidifying Systems...Schmidt shot ahead by 2,000 and 'um "won".

Funny that all the neighboring Counties didn't seem to suffer from this mysterious "humidity" factor. 'Eh Jean and Wally O'Dell?

12. Howard Fineman was there, and said that off-camera, he could see
democrats all standing up the moment Schmidt made her defamatory comments, and they all started trooping down to the well of the House to register a complaint with the speaker. He said he'd NEVER seen a reaction like that before.

I do remember hearing them yelling at Schmidt, and (I think) after they had gone back to their seats, I saw Sheila Jackson Lee standing down there--apparently she is the one whom they chose to do the honors of formally complaining.

As we know, Schmidt, 10 minutes later, withdrew her remarks.
