16. I hope the Dems just don't show up.
Every last one of them needs to go home for the weekend and let the Republicans shoulder this shit by themselves.

2. Did the Repubs actually LISTEN to what Murtha said?
Murtha's statements - bold emphasis mine

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/middle_east/july-dec05/withdrawal_11-17.html

"I hope this is a watershed. I hope a lot of people think about what I've said and we can begin to withdraw our troops immediately from that area and put them on the horizon, or over the horizon, so if they have to they can go back in."

"This is an idea of how we can save lives, of how we can be on the periphery of Iraq and send troops back in, in case there is an increase in terrorism that we need to go back in."

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,17287351%255E663,00.html

"to immediately redeploy US troops consistent with the safety of US forces".

"With a US troop redeployment, the Iraqi security forces will be incentified to take control,"

6. Now THIS is a political ploy. They can't force Chimp to remove troops
Crazy Cheney was going on and on about how bad politics in Washington is regarding Iraq. Well, WTF is this BS? Democrats should refuse to vote unless there is some insurance that the troops will be withdrawn if the bill passes.

9. just for the record
the Supreme Court takes the position that the Congress has the right to cut-off funding for the war ... it won't happen of course ... but the WH would have no options if the Congress did it ...

10. OOps. DU made it sound like the thugs proposed this bill.
Since it's Murtha's bill, the Dems have no choice to vote 100% for withdrawl and ending Halliburton's war.

NO more Americans should die for Halliburton and bu$h/Chicanery's lies.

13. Who cares if it has the authority to bring them home?
Bush is at 35%. This country and the whole world HATE him. He's toast. There is no excuse NOT to vote to bring them home NOW.

Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 04:11 PM by MissMarple
Stand for what you believe is best for the security of the American people. Dammit. Murtha's right. He calls for an intelligent strategy.

Don't let the GOP spin machine define your vote. Call their unpatriotic bluff.

19. This is a bill that is being revised at this very moment...
I for one feel more time should be given when our soldiers lives are at stake so that the citizens of this country are more informed as to exactly what this thing says..

To demand people vote on something you and I have no idea what it says is extremely stupid.

22. Well if it's being revised....I might have to agree with you.
Whatever they do, they should stand together. The Republicans are bullying through their spin machine politics. I hope they fall on their fat, greedy, duplicitous faces.
