Woodward’s Secret
Woodward’s Secret
November 16th, 2005

Bob Woodward testified under oath on Monday in the Plame Leak case. Apparently, “a senior administration official,” in mid-June of 2003 casually told Woodward “that Plame worked as a CIA analyst on weapons of mass destruction.” Woodward, keeper of the Deep Throat identity for three decades, claimed “he did not believe the information to be classified or sensitive.” RIGHT.

Of course this all comes out now, more than a year after disclosures of this sort might have swayed voter’s opinions in the ‘04 presidential election. How convenient is that? A couple of weeks ago, I posted about this issue here: How the Mainstream Media Got Bush Re-elected - And Screwed America.

1. Just wondering ...
How come 30 years ago when he had info to sink a presidency, he ran with it, but this time around, he sat on it?

I still can't figure him out. I'm sure he's a double-wallet guy, I just don't know who he's really working for.

If he really was a reporter or journalist, it seems he would have spilled the beans a long time ago.

3. As has been discussed elsewhere on DU yesterday and today,
Woodward likely serves two or three masters: his friends from his stint in Naval Intelligence during the Vietnam years, himself and only possibly, the Post.

4. He's like the rest of them...
the media and most in government they are hypocrites and liars. They play to the highest bidder. " Will you give me the story if I shield all of your lies". I always wondered why bush and cheney would be so open with a reporter.

seem to be "accident prone". That fear could have been why he held out the info.

1) the information was indeed sensitive and extremely classified.
