2. Too bad he does not take Allen in 2006 - I hope there is another good dem
that can do that.

16. If he did and won - we'ld have a seat that we probably won't have
and wouldn't Kaine pick his replacement in the Senate if he ran and won the Presidency. (Although missing votes the first year in the Senate would be criticised he would gain an enormous amount of credit if he helps tip the Seante.

4. Warner must defeat Allen for his 2008 prospects to really take off

6. That's a ridiculous reason not to like him.
He turned this state around after the illegal screwing done by Gilmore and his cronies. He's a good man -- a bit of a centrist, but I'll take him.

8. The poster was referring to Allen, not Warner

12. Correct. I was referring to Allen in a bit of humor. Other reasons not to
like him can be seen when he is on MTP or in front of any camera. He's definitely a party-first guy. A real jackbooter.

I'm hoping Warner is on the '08 ticket with Clark, BTW.

9. Is VA going to have the Warner Bros. for Senate?
With Repuke John Warner as Yosemite Sam and Mark Warner as Bugs Bunny? :silly:

10. Warner/Clark ticket would be a winner.
I could vote for that.

15. I'm down with that one.

A primary with Clark, Warner, Gore, Hillary and Biden would be great as long as Clark, Gore or Warner prevail. Still, this would be an impressive pack to present to the voters.

13. He could be a strong candidate
Personally at this point I prefer Edwards or Clark. But Warner definitely has potential and shouldn't be counted out. It's likely, as some have said, that at some point (probably quite late) someone will become the anti-Hillary candidate and it could well be Warner.

I quite like Warner-Clark. Or Clark-Warner. Or Edwards-Warner (I doubt Edwards would want to take VP spot again - if he loses in '08 he's probably out of politics or will wind up getting a cabinet appointment).

14. I don't necessarily agree Allen's stock will fall
In fact, it can be argued completely the opposite. Rove and the Republicans know how vital Virginia is in 2008. Losing the state again might jolt them and handicap 2008 in regard to needing a Virginian on the ticket to secure the state.
