Which elections are we watching?
Besides some initiatives in CA, where is the action?

Only school board in my back yard and a DINO mayor who supported Bush and is now going down in flames - but I am not a constituent.

1. Probably best indicator is Gov. race in VA.
Kaine (Dem) vs. Kilgore (evil Repub). VA is of course very heavily suburban and repub - keeping fingers crossed, it's a close race. A big Dem victory might indicate that lots of folks (including repubs) are plenty fed up.

9. We voted 7:40 am today (40 mins. after polls opened)
We were #118 and #119 - very good turnout compared to past years - I think even in the Presidential races when we go early like that we are usually below #50. My precinct (Henrico County - affluent Richmond burbs) is so Repub it stinks!!!!

5. A close race in a pug country is already a good news
will keep my fingers crossed.

13. And voters there are already reporting problems
with the Diebold touchscreens registering votes for Kaine as Kilgore votes.

*sigh*

Here we go again.

2. NJ and VA. Both are very close, and
both are considered red states. Right now, the MSM is saying if the Dems win they'll be proudly bragging that this demonstrates how weak the Pubs really are, and shows that they will take over in 06. If the Pubs win, they'll say it dhows that, even with all the problems, they're still strong and will retain full control.

3. Thanks. Would we need a real victory, or will coming close behind
the way Hackett did in Ohio last summer, would be a good news, too?

Hey, I am desperate. I will take anything.

Seriously, though. I think that if we can turn the tide we will be able to get great candidates, like Paul Hackett, who will want to be associated with a winning team.

8. Well, I think we need a win, even if it's a squeeker.
The current Gov. of Va. is a Dem, so you know the Pubs would capitalize on a Pub victory!

In NJ, Corzine was way ahead for sooo long, and then the Pubs started the dirt flying in the last week or so, and the race has tightened to within the margin of error, so we really need a win there too!

6. There's an anti gay marriage amendment in Texas that technically
bans all marriage, since it's worded so poorly.

14. I lived in Lott's district, and now I live in Texas. I tell you, I think
Mississippi ain't got nothin' on Texas when it comes to dung-for-brains politicians.

11. Commentary from one of the pundits this morning re VA:
VA gubenatorial elections are always held in the off year (like this one). Every year since 1977, Virginians have elected a governor from the party opposite to the one incumbent in the White House. So, if that legend continues --- keep fingers crossed!!!
