Hey, here's someone we can ALL dislike: Cornyn
Sen. Cornyn (R-TX) is on the floor of the senate questioning the patriotism of anyone who dissents from the Bush line on Iraq.

We have to stay, cuz, the terrorists will cause trouble if we don't and we'll be fighting them in our bathrooms in the morning and then breakfast will suck.

Hey, I have problems with some Dems, but I really hate these guys.

I would like to strink Republicanism to such a size that I could drown it in a bath tube and get rid of idiots like Cornyn... :puke:

Cornyn and that fucking ignorant hump from oklahoma and the dog fucker from PA are living proof that conservatives who vote are America's number one domestic enemy.

12. You're right
I got a kick out of a ltte in today's gulfport paper; some neanderthal hump was whining about lott "bashing" bush and acting like a dem. Lott chooses his fights carefully and if he chooses to run again he will be up for reelection next year. I'd vote for howdy doody before I'd vote for lott but he is a breath of fresh air compared to some of his fellow republicans in the senate.

5. You and me both
I don't get these guys who at one time were fairly moderate and who now can't get their heads out of *'s nether regions. Cornyn did some good things and made some fair rulings.

How he--and the whole sorry, self-serving, cowardly, short-sighted lot--has become so insane is beyond me. How do these people live with themselves?

11. Bad intel? We would never fabricate anything. We are pure.
And by the way, Saddam used WMD on his own people. So we were justified in anything we did, cuz he was worse.

This is the logic of children at recess. (No insult to children, intended.)

13. He's so bad he makes Kay Bailey Hutchison (sp?) look good.
She continues in her career as "Texas's less insane Republican Senator."

Cornyn is following in the footsteps of the dreadful Phil Gram.

14. John Cornyn helped Bush walk as governor, and had a seat rewarded to him
John Cornyn was the Attorney General while Bush was governor. During that time, Bush conspired to fire an entire oversight committee to save his funeral home buddies, SCI (the same people picking up bodies in New Orleans, and the same ones who were throwing bodies over the fence in Florida a few years back).

A suit was filed and Bush swore an affadavit that he was not present at a specific meeting the victims accused him of being at. They found records to prove he was there, and the whole thing was supposed to come to trial the week of 9-11. After 9-11, they gave the victims a huge sum of money to shut up and drop the case, so Bush's perjury and obstruction were buried.

In addition, Bush took donor money, including corporate money, as governor while the state legislature was in session. This is forbidden specifically and unequivocally by state law. Bush claimed he was not breaking the law because the money was for his presidential exploration committee, and Cornyn refused to investigate, or even acknowledge that he refused to care about the issue. Some of the donors who contributed to W's campaign had legislation pending before the legislation, and sure enough, Bush pushed for passage.

Cornyn turned the other way a lot for Bush, so Bush pushed him into the Senate. His opponent was Ron Kirk, who was slightly ahead in the polls on election day, but was slaughtered in the election, with lower than exepcted numbers in even his strongest districts. The general feel the next day was that something wasn't right, but no one could prove anything.

A friend of mine worked for Cornyn at the AG office. Let's just say that women avoided being alone when they spoke with him. He's a real piece of shit, personally and politically.

I don't know enough to find the paper work you have referenced in your post, but I would be very interested in seeing the paper trail. How could one get one's hands on it?

22. On SCI
Here's a link on the SCI scandal. It's commonly called "funeralgate." This Washington Post article mentions Cornyn's role a little. It was written before 9-11. Notice that this is another case of Bush denying he knows someone he obviously knows. It doesn't go into the actual offensed of SCI, which were pretty bad.

and I'm embarrassed to call him Senator from Texas. He is the perfect example of what has gone terribly wrong with the Republican Party. People of Texas, we can do better, and we will.

He was terrible as AG of Texas, terrible on the Supreme court, and worse as a US senator.

18. This sack of shit needs to shut the fuck up...
I will NOT have my patriotism attacked or defined by a corrupt, lying, thieving douchebag like him...

Or for that matter by ANYONE in that corrupt, lying, theiving party....

Dissention is the HEIGHT of patriotism, and is the duty of every citizen to dissent and protest when their government fails them. I can think of no greater failure than committing troops to a war that was initiated by their own government.
