I don't want Bush or Cheney to resign.
I want them around at least through the 2006 elections and preferably through 2008. I want their stink to stick to every GOP congressman and senator currently holding office.

1. But how do we keep them from totally destroying America?
They have done so much damage now that I fear we will never recover. But 3 more years? God Help Us!

4. I feel that the damage has already been done -- certainly, no Democrat is
going to be appointed to the presidency for the next 3 years, so we will have a republican in there no matter what, right? And it isn't going to be a moderate republican--it will most likely be a PNAC secret sympathizer--so how much better can that be? The most we could hope for would be someone minimally competent, but that's even worse, because then he will dismantle our rights, etc., while actually running a hurricane rescue competently. Do we want that? The big plus we have in Bush et al is that they are SO greedy, SO incompetent, and SO venal that even diehard repubs are starting to see through them. That may not be a bad thing.

7. Nay, well said.
I am so saddend and distressed by the harm and havoc the chimp admin has caused globally, but since we are stuck with them, better this pack of fools for now.
Now they are an asset for the Democratic Party.

A competant and serious Repug leader would be a bad thing right now. I don't know about you but I am having a few " I told you so" moments these days.

Keep Cheney and Bush. Stay the course until 2006 ! Let's see them run themselves totally into the ground. This is Act III and the fat lady is warming up in the wings.

8. I am not denying they are an asset for Democrats right now.
I think once we get Congress cleaned out, maybe we can keep them in check. One more year is all we need.
I think a big impeachment hearings and trial in 2007 into 2008 should be just enough to keep them from causing too much more damage and keep the American people tuned into the shit they have created.

14. Well its arguable that Tom DeLay having to defend himself
has made the Repugs more dis organized and vulnerable. We don't really have to convict him to stop the Congressional Repugs dead in the water; distracting him in the fight for his political career is forcing him to direct his thought and energy elsewhere - when they badly need him.

enough indictments and investigations can stop the Chimp admin dead in the water.

11. I have this thing in mind. Cheney will get really ill and SoS will-----
come in. in his place so she can run. Then if we do not vote or the blacks do not vote for her we will be classes as you know what. This job is her to be known world wide and we know she will do any thing Bush and Co wants. I do not think any one in the GOP can make it to the WH with out some blacks voting for them, as they have said this and with Bush now down to less than 5% of blacks some thing must be done. Even if they have the voting machine in their pockets they still are having a hard time getting into office. Bush will have to keep the party going so , for one thing, we do not find out what he has been up to.

2. Me too--plus, I don't want some other Republican to get in there,
act like a big "moderate" for 3 years, and get elected in 2008 because the repubs get comfortable with him/her. Like you, I want the stink to follow them around for years.

3. I think you will get your wish.
I don't see them as resigning. They'll leave only under armed guard and handcuffs. Otherwise, their arrogance and hubris will not permit them to do the right thing.

6. There is an old remedy for chicken killing dogs.
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 08:27 AM by amber dog democrat
You tie the chicken it killed to its neck and let it decompose.... Lets see what happens to the repug's base of support as the war, domestic policy, and other failures continue to happen.

yeah, lets keep them - I want to start a pool ; How low can they go in the polls ?

I,m saying the 20s. Keep them there until 2006.
