2. They consider themselves winners,
and everybody else losers.
They make their own rules, so there's no such thing as cheating.

3. FEAR-
the greatest motivator of all.

Fear of change, loss, need, themselves, the future, want, being judged, pain, hope, love, etc.

You name it- we follow out of fear- the lack of courage and self-assurance, or willingness to fall, or appear stupid, or fail-

i'm betting my life on it.

4. Selfishness.
I started to say simple-mindeness, but that's too easy.

They want to grab all they can for themselves, and really just do not care about anybody else.

15. YES and limited government
By decreasing tax revenue they hope to shrink government; Kill Social Security, Welfare, The Arts, and a host of other 'poverty programs', actually bankrupting government may be a secret goal.

9. Getting the Rich richer and the poor poorer thru tax cuts
It's their raison d'etre.

If Bush were to come out in favor of tax increases, they'd abandon him in droves.

12. Loyalty to party over country
Many are bigots, many are rich greedy fucks, and many are mullet-headed morans, but not all. What really binds them all together is that they are Republicans first, Americans second (or in some cases, Christians second and Americans third), and human beings dead last.

14. it isn't one thing. it is two things
the republican party is an unholy alliance between people who support corporate interests because it enriches themselves (and who don't care about social issues because they know that if one has enough money in America then there are ways to get around blue laws), and people who, because of their own fundamentalist beliefs, are willing to sacrifice their own economic interests to support restrictions on other people's personal lives.

years, even more obviously these past few months.

17. They all agree on tax cuts.
Religion and the role it plays in government divides them.

Also, the party is split on a woman's right to choose.

21. I like this. Yes -- I think that they think that everyone starts out...
with the same chance for success and that, with hard work, everyone can succeed. If you don't succeed, then you are lazy to them.

23. They all would have answered this question the same
The one thing that bonds them all together is the Talking Points Memo. They have one thought, one message, one point or meme to hammer out in sync. That is their power but it can also be a weakness.

As Harry Reid proved you have to ambush them before they can all get the script and then they all sound like clueless blithering idiots who forgot how to think for themselves a long time ago.

What do I win?
:hi:

28. Fear and selfishness
I looked in on a conservative site the other day, and the name of the thread was something like, "How can an intelligent person be a liberal?"

They were especially puzzled about how a show biz type could be a liberal, because it means giving away so much money in taxes.

They came to the conclusion that Hollywood liberals got rich too quickly and therefore don't know the value of hard work.
