Really hope the "Kerry said/didn't say" thing doesn't become a distraction
Edited on Fri Nov-04-05 03:35 PM by quiet.american
Let me qualify that statement by saying I hope it doesn't become a mainstream media distraction.

It has all the potential to take over the weekend news and deflate the dynamism generated over the past couple weeks.

It also would give the Goebbels gang in the media a convenient excuse (not that they need one) to deflect attention away from Abramoff, Safavian, DeLay, Frist and Libby.

If John Kerry isn't calling a press conference to announce he's revisiting the 2004 election results and challenging them, whatever he might have said at a party (or whatever it was) doesn't seem like it would mean much of anything.

I'm hoping we're not about to go through a second endless "Swift Throat Liars for Bush"-type thing.

3. Seems that way, doesn't it?
If those who are involved weren't, I would think I'm smelling a rove.

2. I wish Kerry would concede the 2008 election now
And save himself and the rest of us a lot of headache.

Jon Stewart for President!!!

5. Don't think we have to worry about that! The media has no interest
in mentioning John Kerry and revisiting anything that would make them look complacent during the election last year. They didn't even cover his Georgetown University speech about the Iraq war a week ago when he laid out a plan to bring an end to the war and to bring 20,000 troops home by Christmas.

8. True, but you know the old saying -- "if it bleeds, it leads."
If they smell "liberal in-fighting" no doubt, they'd suddenly be interested again.

But I am hoping this story will remain of just "local" interest to us.

9. "Frist Outraged"
I hear you, but just as they initially headlined Harry Reid's political equivalent of a boxer's right-hand lead with "Frist Outraged" without too much attention as to why Reid KO'ed him, I suspect they could do the same with this story.

13. That's the only story
"The Media Won't Mention The Stolen Election"

It's taboo.

I wish Kerry's mentions of the Stolen Election would hit the news, and hit it hard. Every bit of free publicity we can get will help.

But it won't happen.
