Will Aaron Brown end up at Faux too?
Now that he's been canned by CNN.

I swear those 3 cable networks are revolving doors when it comes to news anchors. (Hemmer, Zahn, Cosby, Carlson, etc)

They are becoming clones of each other.

2. I doubt it.
CNN fired Aaron because he didn't kiss enough Fraudministration ass. No way FAUX would hire him.

Not that I feel too sorry for him. I remember his days on KING 5 TV in Seattle and I didn't care for him then either.

3. He was kind of snooty
I remember seeing Jerry Lewis poke fun at him one time and he didn't react well.

25. Why does ANYONE get fired from the Whore Media?
Phil Donahue had the highest rated show on MSRNC and they canned him. Let alone replaced him with a moronic piece of shit (Mikey "Savage" Weiner) who couldn't restrain his hate long enough to keep the job more than a couple months.

4. I will miss Aaron Brown.
I might not always have agreed with him but he spoke about real news and was a real person. Theres no one else I'll watch on CNN.

6. me too. First they changed the format of his show, the Whip, that I
liked, and now they fired him. It's not good news, and he won't end up on Fox. I am surprised that people think he is Fox material. We should be more discerning than that. He was not universally loved but he was one of the more serious -- and honest -- newspeople around. Too bad. Anderson is good for certain things but the move leaves me disappointed, to say the least. Fuck Klein.

8. I'll just echo every word
I have no idea why anyone here would celebrate this. If we're expecting more Olbermanns to show up that's incomparable ignorance. Aaron Brown is a professional and I'm semi-stunned at this news.

23. I agree - he is a journalist, which should not be noteworthy, but it is
So what are we left with - attractive actors and actresses who read the appropriate scripts well.

11. You say he's not Fox material.
But he is a journalist who needs a job. If Fox calls, I'm sure he'll answer.

Besides maybe he's sees himself as a progressive who can help bring some truth to Fox, ala Wes Clark.

24. Wes Clark isn't a news anchor
And I doubt FAUX would ever consider him for that job.

Fire Aaron Brown and allow Wolf Blitzer to take up airtime???? Yikes. Blitzer is a fool so it figures that he must stay. The dumber the better, it seems. Puke is right.

15. WTF?? I haven't been online for a few days. Someone fill me in pleeze
He was the only one I watched on CNN.
I liked him because he would report news, not just spin.

Why would they fire him, and not Paula? She is the worst.
She is such a be-atch. I just want to smack her.

Damn.

16. There is a thread in General Discussion with more specifics
Edited on Wed Nov-02-05 09:18 PM by Awsi Dooger
You could check that out. It implies ratings were the reason, that Anderson Cooper is the now guy especially with the critical age groups. Olbermann said tonight that Aaron Brown was apparently offered a different time slot by CNN but declined. He probably considered that a slap in the face.

On edit: sorry, I should have linked it. Volcano Jen's post at #14 has the ratings info: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5247062

20. I'm surprised he wouldn't accept a different time slot.
Beats losing a gig with national exposure.

Maybe he will compete for the CBS or ABC anchor job?

21. I think, he will not get a National job again, he's 59
I think he's one of the good guys, but in news-age, he's as old as father time. (PS I'm a fossil too, so stop thinking that).

28. Cnn line up was already bad enough.
I like Anderson Cooper but his show needs some depth. Zahn & Larry King are off in left field some where booooooooring! I swear if the world orbited into outer space they would still stick to what ever topic they planed for the week. Dobbs and Brown at least bring up the topics of the day.
