New Sign Gore will Run in 2008?
Check out what US News has to say:

Is Al Gore coming back? If allies we talked to have their way, the former veep will be the next president. "It's Gore Time," says a political strategist and fundraiser who is opening a bid to get Gore into the race. Gore friends see his recent political and business moves as proof he's preparing to run. Allies say that in speeches, Gore has found his voice to address domestic and world issues

I'd be all for it. He'd be the one biggest possible challenger to Hillary. And he was against the Iraq war before being against it was "cool."

Sounds like a winner to me!

31. Gore-Edwards would be excellent
Gore-Edwards would be an excellent choice for our economy. Both seem to strongly oppose outsourcing and unrestricted free trade, as well as opposing the tax cuts on the top 2%. I think both would stand up to Corporate America as well.

32. Agreed. I think Clark would be the stronger choice when thinking about
issues like rebuilding bridges to our allies and demonstrating to the fearful portion of the public that Dems can defend the country, but I'd take either. nt

8. Because she is...
At this point -- three freaking years before the election -- Hillary beats anyone in the polls. Of course, three years is several millennia in political terms, and we don't even know who's running yet.

27. makeover
Much more dynamic bu the needs some new packaging; he looks a little paunchy and out of shape. A make over is in order; shallow as it sounds, it is necessary.

11. I hope he runs.
But I think he's smart enough to say *nothing* of it until after the 2006 midterms.

Al--Please run, please. But please keep quiet about it, let out no hints, make no moves toward it, until we have the House and/or Senate under our belt in 2006. (BTW, Al, we could use your help there, too.)

38. I believe President Gore will help us in that regard,
however the congressional candidates in 2006 need to campaign on issues that he is passionate about to get his support, such as global warming for one.

Why do you even waste your time? John F Kennedy couldn't win if he came back from the dead unless the dam machines get fixed.

24. As Much As Your Post Works Like A Damper...
...you are absolutely right.

With corporations going berserk as Republicans' poll numbers drop like flies, they're going to be extra tenacious in stealing elections from non-corporation-supporting Democrats come 2006 while ensuring Republicans maintain their seats, and if they get their way, it doesn't matter how many votes Democrats get--cuz they're not going to count.

Why is there so little attention being given to fixing our cheating voting, and tabulation machines? The mid-term elections are just a year away!

What's up with that??

15. Gore/Giuliani '08!!
Seriously, think about it!

Okay, maybe not so seriously.... but I'll take Gore/Whoever over Whoever/Whoever any day!

BUT - and this is important - BUT! ONLY IF Gore promises not to go back to his older, less daring self.

I only want the Gore that we've seen since 2002.

20. Ummm, I hate to be the one to tell you,
but Giuliani is a Republican.

And an asshole. And a huge supporter of Bush.

Anyone here who ever suggests any Republican as a VP nominee (and McCain is another popular one) simply does not understand the nature of party politics. It's not like us out here in the hinterlands, who sometimes vote for someone running for the Other Party because he/she seems like a good candidate. These people NEVER vote anything other than a straight party ticket. And they certainly wouldn't run for office as a candidate for the other party.

I realize now that some of you are going to point out certain politicians who've actually switched affiliations, and of course that's actually happened, but those things have no bearing on what I just said.

Gore is the man! And as a Notre Dame alumna, I love "Comeback Kids!"

I like Obama but don't think he will have enough experience to be VP. I have a feeling if Gore and Hillary run, and Gore gets strong support from his network and Dean's former network, that the Dem powers that be will try to forge a Gore-H.Clinton ticket.

...roll their eyes and say "are you kidding"?

This includes people ranging in political views from far left/Green to moderate Dem to moderate Repug...

Hey, I like Al, but for people outside of the DU/Kos/etc. blogosphere, I get the same reaction. The same is not true for other candidates, including Clark, Edwards, Kerry or even Dean.

35. That may change after Gore's feature-length documentary on his climate
change presentation gets out to the public around this December. His presentation has received great reviews from those who attended it.

Also, have any of your friends seen Gore's great speeches since 2000? If not, then it's no wonder why they "roll their eyes." They are still brainwashed by the Reichwing Media's propaganda on Gore.
