Bush is Really Taking It On The Chin Today
I think the voices are getting even more strident.

The deal with his appointments to FEMA are going to be what kills him. That singular act is really criminal and he should be prosecuted. His actions may have resulted in the deaths of hundreds.

And wasn't Cheney profound yesterday. Poor guy had to come back from his Wyoming ranch early.

The fact that all of these guys were on vacation and just didn't want to come back is so damning.

1. It's up to the press...
It's up to the press to stay focused on this, and critical of the administration. They've done very little of that during this presidency, but hopefully this will be the catalyst to REAL CHANGE.

The media has consistently treated Bush with "kid gloves," but if they get serious, and aggressive, they can expose this administration for the fraud that it is.

5. I think the gloves are off.
This deal with the FEMA personnel is all over the press today.

But I think all the other stuff is starting to just fall down around them.

The whole war thing - and the lack of planning

All the money spent for nothing -

The money grubbing

Barbara Bush's (and all the rest of them) total lack of compassion or understanding.

I think that this whole house of cards is coming down. I knew it would. I've lived long enough to see it happen before. It always does. It just takes time for all the mistakes and greed to bring the whole thing down.

Kind of ironic. Karl Rove figured this would not happen on their watch.

18. Actually, the press isn't and shouldn't be "members of our side"
They should be objective and unbiased reporters of the news. That reporting needs to include investigative reporting that would show the fraud this administration is. Like Truman said, "I don't give them Hell, I tell the truth and they think it's Hell".
The problem was and is the reluctance of the press to tell the truth. I think that is due to their fear of the loss of their six and seven figure salaries, that they receive at the pleasure of their corporate owners.

31. Bush reminds one of when Nixon refused to come clean, I suspect
his constant dnial nothing ever goes wrong or that he is ever wrong is like when Nixon kept denying any wrong doing...this shit gets old folks.

Especially when Rove continues to provide the hired hands, it's so yesterday...!

13. Why did you bother to call yourself bushbasher?
If you were going to fly straight into the damned bug zapper with only 2 posts, why bother giving yourself an anti-Bush name?

Anyway, before you go away, know this: no one is listening to their crap anymore, save the few brain-dead troglodytes such as yourself. All the crap that used to work is now falling on deaf ears, and I don't believe you'll be up for the cognitive dissonance that hits you like a freight train when this submoron falls apart under the criticism.

Have a nice weekend.

20. Don't "hide" failings of anybody. They *all* need to be analyzed.

Rest assured; the lion's share of the incompetence and fault will lie w/ the Feds, FEMA, the Bush Administration, and idealogical deconstruction of perfectly-functional government agencies.

23. You might want to become a bit better informed
before posting.

The "F" in the term "FEMA" is for the word "federal". The reigns were turned over to FEMA when the emergency was declared prior to the hurricane striking.

BTW, how does being an incompetent and fired ex-employee of an Arabian horse association make for a good FEMA head....oh, i forgot, you republicans think killing and maiming poor people is sport

<quote>I don't know... I think we need to be EVEN MORE OUTRAGED AT THIS FIASCO OF AN ADMINISTRATION. We need to turn up the vitriol another notch. We need to hide the fact that the black mayor, just didn't know what the hell he was doing and need to cover up the incompetency of the female governor. I hope this doesn't come home to haunt those of us that want HILLERY to be president in 2008 !!! Keep it up folks. I think the pubbies want to use the fact that a FEMALE governor can't handle a crisis and they will, mark my words, use this to DERAIL our queen Hillery.:)
<end quote>

1) The Black Mayor setup an evacuation plan, had buses running out of the city loaded with people and designated the superdome for those who could not get out.

2) The incompent Governor requested aid on the 26th and again on the 27th reporting major devistation was immenent. She officially begged for help and none came.

Meanwhile, the president stayed on vacation, issued a press release declaring a disaster area for all but the coastal counties, claimed no one thought the levees would break (while everyone reported days before that is exactly what would happen) and told the Idiot who said "We didn't have factual reports of people in the evacutation centers" you are doing a good job brownie.

Oh yea, nice blame game you have going to there--blame the citizens of rome while Nero plays the fiddle outside the city.

7. We need to keep the momentum going...

Once traction is gained w/ the top-level FEMA incompetents, and widely-published, the left-of-center blogosphere-et-al need to start highlighting all the similar appointment where incompetent cronies or idealogues have been appointed:

- FEMA (Brown, etc)
- Iraq rebuilding staff
- John Bolton
- John Roberts, as Chief Justice -- w/ only 2 years bench experience?!? Please.

This horrible embarrassment of an adm. will go down in history the same way Nixon did.

Their behavior is shameful.

The chickens are coming home to roost. It's too bad so many Americans had to die to make it happen.

11. There are two things i worry about.
There are two things i worry about.

1) Bush's inner circle are all implicated in the crimes of the last 5 years. They will stick together. They will not break ranks. If they do, they all go down. Thats why we are seeing Cheney, Delay et al all on the news every night.
2) Some of the press also fall in to that catagory. The Chicago Tribune has run about 2 letters about the hurricain, i guess they are waiting until there is something less critical to print. They will help, because they know when the full truth comes out they have questions to answer.

So we have the middle ground press, and we need to back them up and support them.

27. its will blow over when Brown resigns
i doubt that heads will roll even as far as #3 at FEMA. Rove et al's absurd "Blame Game" meme has muddied the waters on accountability, at least enough to quell the misgivings of moderate GOP voters like my dad. Bush won't drop below 40% - after all, he doesn't control the weather, does he?

Blanco said she'd shoulder some of the blame, which means she gets it all, along with Ray Nagin. The bigots can sleep at night.

29. Does it seem like *'s strategy for the day is to monopolize the media?
Maybe it's just bad timing, but every time I turn on the news to get an update today, * is on talking. First it was the Karen Hughes appointment, now he's honoring the officers killed in the 9/11 attack, and later Chertoff is supposed to be giving a press conference.

It just seems they're leaving very little time for any real reporting.
