Talking Point: Bush Sr. was man enough to fire Rove for leaking to Novak
In 1992, Bush Sr. had the integrity to fire Rove for leaking to Novak. The leak that time, a negative story about Bush loyalist/fundraiser Robert Mosbacher, is nothing compared to being involved in outing a CIA operative.

Bush Senior would agree. In 1999 he said, "I have nothing but contempt for those who betray the trust by exposing the name of our sources. They are, in my view, the most insidious of traitors."

4. I'm sorry - I just can't see anything good in the Old Man.
I was listening to AAR last weekend. I think it was called the "Young Turks" (never heard of them). Anyway, they were comparing the two - father and son.

They called Poppy the "Good Bush". "Yes, the good one", replied Turk #2.

I can't see anything good in Bush senior. He was a conniving old goat who always had his hand in the till.

After all, he was the one who gave us -- -- --

5. No doubt the Old Man was a Conniving Old Goat
and yet even he fired Rove when he was caught leaking to Novak.

6. True GHB fired Rove, but HE wasn't totally dependant on Rove
strategy like Shrub is. I BELIEVE it was Rove's dirty tricks that got Shrub to where he is today. He got him elected Gov of TX, and just kept going. Shrub owes Rove big time, and they both know it. I actually hope they do stand together! It will be easier to bring them down that way!
