transport vehicle ran over the cliff and Clark rapelled down to them--the vehicle was on fire and all died.

Clark met her at the Air Force Base when her husband's coffin was shipped home and handed her her husband's wedding ring. She said that for him to think of saving the ring and getting it back to her showed her the kind of man he is.

What a story..she continued to say how thankful her children still are about the ring, that they consider it a good luck charm.

It was a SINCERE story, not a plastic one. It was a tear jerker.

79. After Clark got on stage, he told another story about his friendship
with Joe Kruzel. He said that they were stationed on the Dalmatian Coast, and they shucked their uniforms and they jumped in and went swimming in a brilliant green pool of water--a lake or something, and while they were swimming side by side across the lake, they looked at each other and said, "My god, we are fifty years old!" It was a touching story, and Clark finished it by hugging Mrs. Kruzel and telling her, "That's what kind of man your husband was."

I got chills--awesome story! :-)

Clark was against the war and testified as such before Congress, opposing Richard Perle's testimony. And Clark's opposition has been direct and detailed, throughout. He gets it. And it's his own bandwagon.

96. The other Joe Kruzel story that Wes told, for those who would like to
hear it. I posted on it, but it got lost in the upper part of this thread. Here it is:
Clark said that he and Joe Kruzel were stationed on the Dalmatian Coast, and they shucked their uniforms and they jumped in and went swimming in a brilliant green pool of water--a lake or something, and while they were swimming side by side across the lake, they looked at each other and said, "My god, we are fifty years old!" It was a touching story, and Clark finished it by hugging Mrs. Kruzel and telling her, "That's what kind of man your husband was."

I got chills--awesome story!

127. Q: Clark, why did it take you so long to become a Democrat?
He is replying that he lived Democratic values while in the military. He was apolitical during the military years. He said that Republicans came a' courtin when he left the military, but he said he identified more with Democratic ideals.

His power, he says, isthat he can beat bush by bringing in moderate Republcians and Indies to the party.

I have been pointing that out for ages here on the "Clark is a Republican" threads. No one understands that it is dishonorable to be partisan in the military.

Especially if you are an officer with people under you. You could alienate your subordinates, and that would be unacceptable.

Still, you will hear DUers making that claim--those are the ones who know nothing about military protocol.

170. "I've never run for office. I'm not beholden to anyone"
Powerful stuff about never having to accept political contributions from the telecom industry or the insurance industry or any industry. He is an outsider. He is not part of the Washington problem. He is the solution. Anyone who wants to be part of his Administration, or be his friend in Congress, is going to have to reveal where they are getting their money. No financial conflicts of interest. They are destroying our Democracy.

169. Yes, me too...and never forget that vets are a huge and motivated
voting bloc. These guys and girls don't sit out of elections and whine about their candidate not getting picked.

Wait til Clark hits the south, where we have more veterans than the rest of the nation.

Just wait. :-)

171. How cute! His interaction with that 7th grader was just adorable.
You got a shot? A lay-up? Jump-shot? Dribble left handed? Pass behind your back? Pass under your knee?

Then to someone: He's gonna kick your you-know-what!

LOL!

179. "As a baptist, you know the scripture, and I thought you would want to
defend the rights of the unborn?"

I want to defend the rights of the mother, and that's the law of the land.

Goddam he just trippled my support for him. He could have walked away, but he stopped, had a photo taken with a supporter, and then went back to that Bush plant and finished his conversation with her.

He is a tremendous guy. We need this man for our candidate.

181. I admire him for sticking to his guns and talking to her and not
just walking away. He stopped, posed for a photo with a REAL supporter, and then went back to that pro-life, Bush plant and finished his conversation by saying he would follow the laws of the land and that meant protecting a woman's right to choose.

Bully for Clark!!!
