We ALSO learned today that Bush favors diplomacy over military action...
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&u=/ap/20050531/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_8

On another foreign policy issue, Bush shot back at critics who suggest his diplomatic approach to North Korea is allowing the communist regime to expand its nuclear program. "If diplomacy is the wrong approach, I guess that means military. That's how I view it as either diplomacy or military. I am for the diplomacy approach," he said. "And for those who say we ought to be using our military to stop a problem, I would say that while all options are on the table, we've still got a ways to go to solve this diplomatically."

4. I think you have it wrong -
If you have oil, we use force. No oil, then it's diplomacy.

12. The lesson of the Iraq war.
If you don't have WMD, the US will say you do and invade.

If you have WMD, the US will leave you alone.

And Bush expects countries to give up their WMD "or else". Or else what? It's clear that the only time the US invades is if the target is weak and helpless. So giving up WMD invites the invitation.

We said the same thing about the Soviets, and it was true. Evil empires are alike in that way. Evil, and empires.

10. I jsut read this.....
Edited on Tue May-31-05 03:25 PM by MsTryska
is it jsut me or does this snippet make no sense whatsoever:

"The president alleged that some of the accusations by detainees were made by "people who hate America, people that have been trained in some instances to disassemble, that means not tell the truth."

it jsut reminds me of "No Disassemble, Stephanie! Johhny Five is alive. Alive!"

11. Translation: Our military tied down, broken, exhausted, in a quagmire
and anybody who reads the papers knows it.

Time to dust off Plan B. "Anyone remember how to do diplomacy? Put your hand down, Bolton, you idiot. Anyone? Anyone? Buhler?"
