2. If the core of the Democratic Party left, all of them

If organized labor suddenly switched over to supporting the Green Party or the Labor Party en masse, the Democratic Party would almost disappear in a few election cycles. It must be a big fundamental shift, not a little fractional one. If it was a fractional shift, all you'd end up doing is splintering the vote once again and giving the Republican the victory. Because of the way the election system is set up and its restrictive nature, it is all-or-nothing.

3. Talk of leaving the party is kinda dumb now.

When the Republican Party cleaves between moderates and christo-fascists, then a Green Party might make sense.

Until that point, it's non-sensical. So if Democrat moves to the Green Party which has to occur if we are going to have any chance of beating Republicans...what's really changed? The namebrand? Contents are still the same. A 95% increase in Greens assures Republican victories.

What Green/Indies ought to be doing is peeling the moderate Republicans from the Republican Party. Spend your time getting these people to join your cause. You may not win, but you'll be doing everyone a big favor if we take back Congress from these criminals.
