"This is the fight for the soul of America." Howard rocks!
What's with Russert? I guess he does have journalistic abilities...it just has been so long since he has DONE HIS JOB I'd forgotten he knew how to do an interview. I wonder why he never interviews the Repubs with such zeal! Dean can hold his own, though. I'm loving it!

peace.

3. Why did Russert keep touching on what Dean said
at one time or other? It wasn't a bad interview, and I do think that Russert goes after repubs with the same zeal. But why didn't he ask Dean about issues? Granted, Dean is not a lawmaker but he must keep in touch with Reid, Boxer, etc. and have some kind of idea what is going on in their minds. No, all Russert wanted to know was "why did you say this" or "what did you mean when you said that?" The question about why Dean hhammered Limbaugh was a pretty good example of what I'm talking about, as was the question and clip about Dean saying that DeLay should be in jail. Now Russert made a true statement when he stated that DeLay has never been convicted of a crime(yet), and Dean did not back away from his staement. Dean did make a mistake while talking about Iraq though, misidentifying Bin Laden as the monster, rather than Hussein. BinLaden is a walking talking piece of crap, as is Hussein, but he probably should get the former leader of Iraq's name corrct. Minor mistake, since he was on a rant, and its not certain that a lot of people caught it. I don't think Russert did. I did though.

6. I caught it too and he did it several times. GOP will use it as a
"sound bite" against him, I'll bet.

He said the * administration falsely tried to tie Osama bin Laden to the attacks on the World trade Center and on ?? and said that Osama was tied to ??. And Osama IS tied to all these things. It's Saddam who is not.

And I couldn't believe that he didn't catch it or that Russert didn't catch it and call him on it so that Dean could have corrected himself. That tells me that Russert wasn't really listening or that he let Dean dig his own grave.

5. "Fight for the soul"
What soul? That has long since disappeared. More like a rear guard action to stave off fascism.
