The Democrats will never take back the House or Senate unless...
they present an alternative to the present regime. Criticism alone is not enough. They need to gamble and say "this is our agenda...this is what we would do..." on taxes, on Iraq, on the war on terror, on the deficit, on Social Security, etc... They need to present a sharp contrast...Nothing doesn't beat something - no matter if something is terrible for our country, in my opinion.

1. WAY too early for that.
We have no good reason to present an agenda this early. Why let them turn the focus on OUR agenda when it is THEIR horrible agenda that needs the focus right now? Why give them ANYTHING to pick at now when there's a year and a half until the next election?

The absolute earliest we should present anything of substance is February.

7. I think you are right
but by this time next year they better have it together and be pushing it. If it is done too early the public will have turned it off already by the time midterms come around.

12. I don't know about that.
I don't think we can start too early to make a plan. People tend to tune out ceaseless criticism. also, not all of our criticisms have turned out to be valid. For instance, we still have no proof the election was "stolen". People disregard those they think are lying to them, whether they actually are, or not.

We'll never win on the negatives, we've got to develop some positives. And simply saying, "We can do it better" isn't going to work either.

They must be stopped but unfortunately our tactics are not working, We can call, write protest whatever and they just ignore us--- And what we need is a miracle, just think what will happen when the "nuclear option" comes into effect the branches of the government that were meant to control the other will be one republican force Heaven help us as we need you in our days of crisis

5. "The Democrats will never take back the House or Senate unless..."
Americans take to the streets en mass and demand electronic election reform:
-Opening the software
-Auditable Paper trails
-Spot checks of machines
-Making Election Day a NATIONAL HOLIDAY (this one baffles me as to why we vote on a Tuesday and are still exepected to go to work...???)

6. It isn't the message, it's the crooked voting machines
and voter suppression. Until we get that worked out, democracy is dead.

8. It's not either/or
It's BOTH.

The Dems need to work on their message, AND we need fair elections.

11. Absolutely
Liberals seem to split into the self-examining "how can we change" crowd or the "everything's fine with our message--we wuz robbed" crowd.

Ignoring election fraud is a mistake as is assuming that everything Democrats have been doing all along is correct and nothing needs to be re-examined in terms of substance and or presentation.

Gotta do both.

13. Right on--its both--Dems w/spine and Election reform

Here are 8 paths to victory:

1) Media outreach
2) Community outreach
3) Pubic Officials outreach
4) Educational forums
5) Rallies/Protests
6) Referendum
7) Court action
8) County grassroots leadership council
9) Town resolutions banning DRE's

9. I think you are mistaken. Their agendas are failing...
Things in Iraq are going badly.
This administration is fiscally irresponsible!
The President cannot sell his Social Security plan - what plan?
The Republicans are behaving irresponsibly in their arrogance (The Senate and the Nuclear Option, The Terri Schiavo Bill, etc.).
Tom Delay is being exposed for the bully that he is.
The Republicans are losing control of their radical elements.
The Patriot Act was imposed upon us during this Administration.

I could go on, but I'll stop there.

Americans are getting fed up with them. Be patient.

10. Here here! If your opponent has a pistol in his mouth it isn't
your job to interrupt him.
