The Only Thing Worse Than Liquid Pig Manure....
...are the dumb sh!t Repubnuts in Lancaster County, PA. It's a Republican stronghold, where Bush carried a 2 to1 margin over Kerry. Upon returning late this evening from this Right Wing haven for the mentally challenged, I found more than the spreading of pungent pig manure is effecting their senses.

Here's the latest. Due to lack of funding, the county is going to shut down the libraries, unless they can raise the milage by 1/2 of 1%. The question will be on the primary ballot. Of course, the Rupubnuts who control the county, will at any cost, NOT raise taxes.

Now here's the kicker. As I read the editorial page of their Right Wing newspaper I came across a letter to the editor from Anna May. And Anna May said, "Libraries are FREE, and there is no need to raise taxes to support them!" Honest, cross my heart, that's what she said.

People, what does this say about the blind lack of basic comprehension, that not only made the prevalent thinking of the editorial page , but the sheer ignored fact that it's been her tax dollars funding the libraries or any other government run facility for her benefit? Trust me, Anna May's elevator has never reached the point where 1 + 1 has ever equaled 2. With Anna May's logic, or the editorial's printing of said thinking, there is no turning these people.

At this point, I think Diogenes had a better shot at finding an honest man with his lantern, than we do of finding a reasonable Republican.

1. Do you have a link?
My sister is assitant director of a local library system and would be interested in this. She almost lost her job because of budget cuts, so she may be interested in a story like this. Thanks.

10. We Were Visiting Our Son, Who Is The Lone Democrat...
...among a forest of Repubnuts. Honestly, can't even recall the name of the paper, but I think my son still has it if spitting my morning coffee didn't ruin it! I'll check for a link or the article to scan and paste.

4. Sounds like she should run for the legislature in Iowa...
Here, they refuse to raise ANY kind of taxes because "the state has enough money."

Then, they raise speeding fines, as part of a higher speed limit act, so that the state can buy new highway patrol cars, because there isn't enough money to get them any other way.

Maybe it's something in their kool-aid????

5. Shocked
I'm shocked they don't burn libraries for being anti-Christian, anti-God, supporting communist abortion clinics, and having books on evolution.

Is it just me or do conservatives tend not to read anyways? Local B&N and library has more liberals than anything.

6. Don't give them any ideas.
If there are no libraries, we can save big bucks by not having to monitor their book lending.

8. But if there are no libraries
Then they won't be able to track what we read.

Real shame about everyone who's going to get caught in the middle though.

12. Hell, They're Still Displaying They're Bush/Cheney Signs!
Edited on Mon May-09-05 08:40 AM by On Par
I was over talking to one of my son's neighbors, and as spoke, his garage door was open, and there was a Bush/Cheney Flag similar to rebel flag you'd expect some redneck would have waving from his Red 57 Chevy truck, hanging from the I-Beam!

These are some serious bible thumping, home-schooling, right wingers.

13. BTW, the paper is so right wing...
... that Doonsbury is in the editorial section!

You only needed to read the letters to know that Bush sat at the right hand of God, and no democrats were welcome. Oh, there was one democratic response, and they segregated it from all the letters on the edge of the page with a vertical line. And, if you were holding the paper with your hands, your thumb would have obscured it!
