Lieberman may vote to confirm Bolton
http://www.courant.com/news/nationworld/hc-caucus0421.artapr21,0,5365031.story
snip
"I'm still a potential vote" for President Bush's nominee for United Nations ambassador, Lieberman, D-Conn., said Wednesday.
That's in sharp contrast to Dodd, D-Conn., a senior Senate Foreign Relations Committee member who has sharply questioned the United Nations ambassador during hearings and urged the panel to investigate the choice further.
Lieberman, though, was unsure about Bolton.
The two have spoken recently and Lieberman, who has generally supported the White House's policies against terrorists, found "he's going to the U.N. not to destroy it, but to reform it."
On the other hand, the senator said, "I'm troubled by what seems to be a repeated record of difficulty by people working with him and for him."

Lieberman said he wants to study the situation further. "I have not reached any conclusions," he said.

Un-frikkin-believable. This guy has no shame.

This character plays both sides of the fence. I totally despise him. What's that saying "with friends like this who needs an enemy" And that oily unctious voice, what a despicable creature.

Edited on Sun May-01-05 04:48 PM by jpgray
In all other cases they must be pissed on, especially if Israel is perpetrating said defiance, or if they otherwise stand in the way of an invasive and illegal foreign policy. Get it?

10. Vote against Bolton
According to Biden, all Democrats in the Foreign Relations Committee would vote against Bolton going out of committee. The only question was about a few Republicans.

7. F**k little Joe
Unless he's tryin' to squeeze out some defense contracts for
Sikorsky or... some Abramoff-style scam for the Native American casinos in CT Maybe's he'll pull the old double-cross, get * to commit to something, and sandbag * Is Joe that crafty? Any CT
opinions? In retrospect, glad he's wasn't veep, though I wish Gore hadn't been outmanuvered by Baker, Bolton and Scalia.
Even with Joe, the world would've been an incomparably better
place. ---(sigh)---

16. Okay, lets see the Joe defenders defend this! I have never liked Joe.
His votes aside, the very first time I met him ( before the primary, at an event for him)I tried to be cordial and told him that I had been a long time Conn. resident and had gone to school in Conn. Now, I had just been formally introduced to the man as a party official, and he sneered and said ,
dismissively, "Oh! everyond claims that". I was stunned! I replied that Conn, was a lovely state , but I had never known anyone to lie about living there! Anyway shortly thereafter he was confronted about the Patriot Bill and he said he hadn't read it. It was "too long" and surely no one could expect Senators to read such bills. He assurred us it was NEVER done. I told him that yes, I did expect him to read the bills, particularly such an important one. I said I though it was his job. He said an aid gave him a summary and he didn't really know all the details. I was horrified. To think he was almost VP!

Have they found a candidate to replace him as the Democratic Senatorial nominee for '06 yet??

48. Lieberman is a Neocon
He wholeheartedly supports Bush's Mideast policy. He has appeared with Wolfowitz at a rally for Benjamin Netanyahu. He responsible for derailing a bill in the Senate that would have tied Bush's hands prior to the Iraq invasion.

Lieberman is a Neocon. End of story.
