UK election 2005: your choice
Now most of us here are not British, but who do you want to win the 5/5 election? Tony Blair, Michael Howard, or Charles Kennedy. Well considering the fact the Kennedy has no chance with the Liberal Democrats, who would you rather in a choice between Blair and Howard? Both technically support Iraq, but like John Kerry, Howard is criticizing the logistics rather than the entire apparatus. Blair is to the left on all issues, but for Iraq, he deserves punishment. My problems with the tories is everything but Howard attempted stance on the war

1. I would vote Lib Dem.
Blair and Labour must be punished for their Iraq criminality. If the good citizens of England did throw his sorry ass out over that, it would send a message to all politicians there that would last a generation.

2. Hoping for a hung parliament
A lot of people have trouble stomaching the Conservatives, but really if you look at it there isn't that much difference in policy.

Tony Blair needs to be punished by the voters, but they can't bring themselves to vote Tory. Lib Dems have picked up almost all the anti-Blair vote, but this is just going to put Blair back in power.

In the interests of punishing Blair and in the interests of Democracy in Britain people should be prepared to vote Tory as a protest vote and hope for a hung parliament. Blair would then have to resign, and we would probably have a minority Labour government relying on the Lib Dems to pass their bills. This would bring some accountability back into the British political system, where the leader of the House of Commons has all the power with few checks and balances.

3. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place
My guess is that Blair will win.
