Democrats : Demand RAISING THE CAP ON PAYROLL TAXES
Shrub demands no raising the payroll taxes...Well, put it out there that this is the price of the BIG FIX. If the system's as broken as he says, then this adjustment to the $90K cap to $120K or so should FIX THE PROBLEM, right ?

Or does Bush and the Redinkrepublicans and their Creditcardcongress want to keep raising deficits ?

1. Shurb is a Chimp - Not 1 MSN w/Guts to Ask the Truth...
Not 1 so-called reporter has asked him... "Where is the Social Security Surplus?"

While on C-Span earlier, MD Senator Sarbanes clearly showed along w/others that he has been taking out of it since he started, that's why it's broke.

And the budge crap going thru today "and" not raising taxes on the wealthiest is what's "fiscally irresponsible."

I no longer have any respect for any of those so-called reporters. Matter-of-fact, it makes me sick to see all of them laugh at his a-hole jokes.

It's not funny, by any means.

Like he said earlier, "It's "HIS" ideas..." "His reflections," paraphrasing. Yeah... certainly not most Americans.

2. Raising the cap on payroll taxes is the easiest, fairest fix
along with eliminating all talk of "those most in need". Don't make it sound like a hand out to poor people, or else everyone else will begin to resent it.

Better would be "a guarantee for everyone (security), paid in by everyone (social)".

5. There is only one problem with this.
Double-taxation of the self-employed.

But, that can easily be fixed with an exemption for them. Otherwise, they would have to the pay the "employee" as well as the "employer" share of the tax.

6. Good point
Although if someone is making over $120,000, I can see them paying just one side of it.
If you eliminated it entirely, you would find people trying to SWITCH to independent contractor after they reached that point.

8. oh god no
Make THEM admit the obvious. The last damned thing we need is to be the tax hiking Democrats again. They fucked up, make them admit they have to raise taxes to fix it.

9. Reagan called them 'revenue enhancements'. This crowd can call
them whatever they need to. You seem to forget, Bush said there's a damn national emergency here with SS nearly bankrupt and all that b.s. Why, he's ready to make Iraq the 51st state but can't deal with a puny bunch of Democrats ?

We're not dealing with 'other people's money' anymore. It's yours and mine and I for one know enough that the only ones with enuff to pay for any 'fix' are the ones who have the money. You can't get it from us turnips anymore...
