Zogby: Rhode Islanders Oppose John Bolton; Chafee Should Do The Same
New Poll Released: Rhode Islanders Oppose John Bolton; Senator Chafee Should Do The Same

Over 80 percent of Rhode Islanders oppose the nomination of John Bolton for US Ambassador to UN, according to a recent survey taken by Zogby. The survey shows a growing disconnect between Senator Lincoln Chafee (R-RI), who continues to express support for the Bolton nomination, and his constituents, the majority of whom are opposed to the appointment. In addition, 55.6 percent of those polled said that should Senator Chafee vote for the John Bolton nomination, they would be less likely to support his reelection bid.

4. OK, John
time to do something dramatic to save your seat. First, nail Bolton in his coffin. Next, cross the aisle-you'd be SO much happier with us, really.

5. Exactly what Chafee needs to hear. My guess is that BushInc promised NOT
to put up a primary opponent in exchange for his vote, but, this poll shows that it doesn't matter....Chafee will lose the general IF he votes for Bolton and keeps supporting Bush.

6. Reach out an touch a RI rethug
I'm serious.

Since Zogby says 80% oppose Bolton, now is the time to "reach out across the aisle". I went into the RI rethug website and extracted some upcoming events that we could attend and discuss this situation.

Who knows, Chafee may be in attendance!
